New owner, seat heater and back up sensor question

Hi all, Just sold my Duramax (have you seen the price of diesel lately?) and bought an 04 LE crew 62k loaded with every option available and have to say i absolutely LOVE it!! Waaay nicer than my chevy which was nice. The truck is mint save for a couple of glitches i'm hoping you folks might be able to save me some time on...

The drivers side seat heater doesnt seem to work, where should i look 1st?

The rear back-up sensors dont seem to work, when i put it in reverse, the orange off light comes on on the sensor cancel swith on the dash, i press the switch but it doesnt seem to engage the sensors, the light stays on, any suggestions?

Need to get these sorted before i start 'personalising' my new ride.
BTW these owners forums are the best thing to ever happen for enthusiastic owners!

Re: New owner, seat heater and back up sensor question

The heated seats take a while to heat up. If it does not warm you up after a while then maybe there is a bad connection.

I think that the beack up sensor is turned off if the light is on. It works automatically when you back up otherwise. Someone will correct me if I am wrong. Maybe slowly back up to something. It should kick on in plenty of time if it is working.

Congrats on the Titan. I cam from a Duramax also. It was a great truck but I love the realibility and everything else about the Titan. I am on my second one now!!

Re: New owner, seat heater and back up sensor question

I just dealt with my back up sensors having issues. Is the light on the switch always illuminated or only when you put it in reverse?

Re: New owner, seat heater and back up sensor question

I've got an 08 LE and i believe you have to be in the seat in order for it to activate. This winter I hit the heat button and went back into the house to warm up and when i got back into the truck the seat wasnt hot. Good luck!

Re: New owner, seat heater and back up sensor question

Tholmes, the off light flashes once when i start the truck which i think is normal, then stays off till i put it in reverse, then it comes on and wont go off till i take it out of reverse again. I found a diagnostic instruction sheet on here for the sensor system so will try it this weekend.

I think the seat heaters are supposed to work even if theres no one in the seat, sounds like it might be a bad switch, i'm going to pull it out this weekend and test it.

Hey does anyone have the factory workshop manual on CD? A couple of other forums i belonged to for previous vehicles used to post the full factory manual as a downloadable zip file that you can burn to CD. Not sure how legal that was but it was a great feature!
