radio question....

hey guys i looked to see if there were any threads and i couldn't find an answer... SO... usually when its cold outside and i go to start my truck in the morning i look at the radio and it freezes, like i will adjust the volume and the volume number will be frozen on the screen. THEN i will play with the temperature knobs and the air speed levels and the screen will.. for lack of a better terms, freak out and display gibberish on the screen. like i said it usually only did this when it was cold but today it did it too and it was 65 degrees outside this morning. anyone else had this problem?

Re: radio question....

Pop the radio faceplate off (the whole thing - from the curve in the top of the dash down under the heater controls). A flat screwdriver gently slipped in the joint at the top and a gentle tug will free the whole thing.

There is a small cable that connects to the radio display on the passenger side of the faceplate. My guess is that it's pinched between the radio and the faceplate (you'll see what I mean when you go to put it back on).

Im not sure how it's related to the heater controls because they each have their own wiring harness, but it's worth a peak and takes less then 2 minutes...
