Back during Katrina, Mississippi all the way up to Hwy 82 was so bad that I was using the fuel out of the pontoon boat to drive to work and to travel out of town for Labor Day. I would go to work and end up on the line welding all night because of the call ins from people either trapped by fallen trees or can't get gas to go to work. I've been keeping the bass boat pretty full in case I have to do the same thing this year. I got lucky and remembered to fill the gas tank on the Mountaineer before I left out of town before Katrina, so as hurricane season begins, I'll be changing my regiment from once a week to every other day if there is even a mention of one coming towards Mississippi.

When I was living south of N.O. I would keep about 50 gallons of fuel on hand at all times. I would dump on in my truck every month, and refill it. I had the date on each one. I stayed for Rita and Katrina, and was able to get gas, had to wait in line, and could only get so much but was able to keep doing things. During Rita I had to take my boat around for a week, because we were flooded.
Blame the envorinmentalist for the refineries, not the oil companies. The oil companies are in line even with companies that are restricted by the government. All companies even electric companies are allowed to make 10% profits, and this is what the oil companies are making. You could always trade comodities if you wanted to cash in.
