One More Newbie Questions About Lift?

Okay, So this is my first truck, and I'm learning alot. I got the 06 SE. I've been looking at prgproducts.com for the leveling kit. I know I need to get the 2.5" kit to raise the front of the truck and give me that even stance. It will cost about $180.

Now I've come across the mini-lift kit for $250. From what I understand this will get rid of the rake in the front but also raise the entire vehicle height.

Is this correct, does anyone know how much lift I will get all around? I am still on the stock rims and tires from the dealer and will not be able to purchase new tires for some time but want to get the look that the truck is a little higher..

Is there any pics floating around on the forum?

Thanks everyone

Is your truck 2wd or 4x4? The PRG 2.5 inch level kit is for the 2wd only. The 4x4 kit is 2 inches or 1.3 inches.

I believe the PRG mini-lift will reduce the amount of rake but, there will still be a little "nose-down" rake after the mini-lift.

The mini lift is just a leveling kit in the front and a block in the back. It raises the whole truck and keeps the factory forward rake whereas the leveling kit only raises the front and makes the truck sit level. I like the look of te leveling kit more than the mini lift because I can't stand the "stinkbug look" our trucks come with, and the mini lift retains that same nose down look.

Re: One More Newbie Questions About Lift?

I'm a 2WD and did the mini lift, and LOVE it. I do like a little of that rake look, but not like what it came from the factory with. The other thing I took into consideration in doing the 1" rear block with the mini lift is that I tow. I did not want excessive squat in the back when I hooked the travel trailer.

Re: One More Newbie Questions About Lift?

I had the rear blocks milled down to .75" to reduce the amount of rake I had with the 2.5" leveling kit and 1" rear blocks. I even took out the rear blocks just to see what it would look like completely leveled. However, I didn't like it.

For some reason, the truck didn't seem to handle as good completely leveled. After putting the 3/4" rear blocks back in, I got the look I was searching for. Originally, I wanted to go 1/2" on the blocks, but you can't go any thinner than .75" due to the alignment stubs on the factory springs.
