oh and as for wear or gas mileage, I have no opinion on that.. except it might make a little sense that if the pressure is low for the first few miles, that might would cost you a few drops of gas?

Not going to change your milage, not going to make your tires last longer....
Did you do an evacuation of the tires before filling with Nitrogen, or was there plenty of air still left in before you filled up?
