Nitrogen inflated tires...

Nitrogen is not need on a passenger truck. Plus it's a Pain in the A$$
to have to run to the tire store to add air to the tires. I filled mine with Nitrogen and felt no difference and got zero better MPG. If your running a car that has super good cornering abilities then Nitro is wonderfull but with tall side walls on trucks, not a big difference. Just my personal experience.

If you have a Discount Tire up that way try them. Costco in my area is more expensive than Discount tire.

I decided to go with a mixture of 78% Nitrogen, 21% Oxygen, and 1% other gasses. Seems to be working pretty well so far . . .

At least with nitrogen filled tires, you won't have to worry so much about your TPMS corroding. It's inert, unlike oxygen.

1) If it is free, go for it. Friend of mine bought a set of new tires for his Magnum at the local Costco and nitrogen was a no charge.

2) Careful about Costco. You might not get what you want from them. I have sen many posts on other forums and her first hand accounts where they will not install a non stock size tire. Liability issue was the excuse.

One of my co-workers have Nitrogen in his F150 tures.
The pressure doesn't change but no gas mileage improvements.

Come to my house... I'll sell you Nitrogen inflated tires, tornado hurricane super excellent ultimate twist throttle body spacers and hydrogen fuel cells that bolt on to your headlights that give you 50mpg.

Helium won't make a difference, it will not lighten the tire until there is enough Helium in the tire to start to overcome the weight of the tire, which is WAY more then 30 or 40 PSI. It will not make enough difference, it will be like taking the spare change out of your truck. Plus with Helium being a much smaller molecule I am pretty sure you would need a very good seal as it is easier for it to leak out.

they quoted me $226 per tire for All-Terrain T/A® KO , LT285/70R17/D with free mouthing , balancing tire rotations , old tire disposal and free nitrogen fill ups for life..I think tirerack.com selling the same tire for $215. The guy in the tire shop at the local costco told me to wait till fall to purchase a set and I would get $60 cash back or something.

he also stated that nitrogens best feature is tire wear when moisture in regular air heats up it expands in tire the middle of your tire wear faster , and when it's cold contracts make the outside wear faster so unless you live where the temp. is constant your air pressure will vary , not the case with nitrogen.

I live in Wisconsin so I think I could benefit from nitrogen inflated tires.

Go for it. What the heck, it is free. I highly doubt your street tires would see enough heat to make them expand enough to wear in the center though.

Thank you IAPhrmr, I was waiting for someone to catch on to that. He has the smallest non-volatile molecule, therefore is horrible for tire inflation. It is used in the semiconductor industry to check for leaks on low pressure tools down to the .0000000009 scale bcause it can easily leak into the smallest openings in a vacuum environment and be detected.
Ever notice how He filled balloons lose their pressure a lot sooner than O2 filled ballons....now try that same theory on a vehicle tire..same results, you would have flat tires every other week using He, simply because it is such a small molecule, that it would leak out around the seals constantly, no matter how tight you get them.

I put the TACOs on my Titan, last spring. I like them. They stand up to a real beating and take very little damage. They are truly "baja rated".

I don't know how they handle in mud, we have mostly sand out in these parts.

The best part is that you can buy a replacement tire, just about any where.

The whole Nitrogen thing is junk science...

You won't get better milage...If you try to post that yes you did, you're just mistaken...

Nitrogen won't "leak" out slower...Think about it guys, if the oxygen and other trace gas's leaked out faster then the 78% Nitrogen, then after a short while all you would have is Nitrogen in your tires...Duh!

Your tires won't last any longer, you have air and smog on the outside, so who cares if the inside rotted slower...

You don't have a race car, and our Titans aren't spending time at 75,000 ft...

From a Corvette owner with the time pressure system which gives digital readouts on the dash screen of tire pressure, each morning the pressure would be 3-5 psi lower per wheel until it was driven.. when I filled it up with nitrogen (I have a nitrogen tank) there was no fluctuation..
