18.7 MPG today

Finally got to test the MPG on the hwy today......Job has me going to Corpus Christie on MY FIRST DAY!!!!! For two weeks no less . Anyways, filled up the Sipper this morning and 378 miles (just below 1/4 of tank) later....I was on 18.7 MPG!!!! Not too shabby for a HUGE truck.

I didn't know Titan nad fuel sipper could be used in the same sentence. Did you get the hybrid version?

Opted for the solar panel inlays (new option) in the bed of the truck


It is better than the Lightning (a tree saving 16 MPG at 65mph)

I have been on a 900 mile trip (one way) and averaged 17.6 mpg. Driving speed limit of 75 and 70 for most of the trip. Tires max pressure. Stock 07 cc or bt - no mods.
Calculated correctely filling to top of tube and dividing miles/gallons consumed. This is the downhill leg 7k feet start 300 ft end. Will report the mileage on the way back uphill. I'm impressed though, windy the whole way. Oh, I do have a tonneau cover and bug shield, but those according to myth busters are supposed to actually decrease mileage.

I pulled 18.2 on my trip for DC to NY this past weekend. I was not doing to well on the return trip, until I tailgated a semi for about 1.5 hours.

I have gotten 18.4 to 18.6 every trip from Rochester NY to Indy, and that has been cruise on 72-75, and I have the Big Tow rearend gears.

Too bad I don't see that on a day-to-day basis...

going up hill will kill your mileage. I use a scangage and it records real time mileage when I want to look at it, uphill with any more than 10% throttle at 65mph im reading between 3mpg and 9mpg, nine being the best, downhill the skys the limits. So point being, if you have to drive up any grade of hill for long distances your mileage will be most likely single digits for that part.

Your friend have a propeller on his beenie? If he's claiming a tiny 28 gallon tank will react the way a huge commecial gasoline holding tank will, his last 30 years have been wasted! The difference in volume, if any at all, would be so miniscule, that it can't even be mentioned w/o being laughed at! If you fill your tank from half or empty...IT'LL MAKE NO FRIGGIN' DIFFERENCE other than the obvious....it costs less to fill from half tank...lol...geez...no wonder this country is on a downhill slope!

I received the same e-mail a few times last week also. You may encrue a few cents in savings doing this, which will pale in comparision to the time you waste getting gas every time you reach a half of a tank. Same holds true for the little gem (in the same e-mail) that said to SLOWLY fuel up your tank to cut down on vapor Again, maybe some MINOR savings, but just more time wasted at the pump trying to fuel up slowly. Sad but true that some people fall for anything they read on the internet.

Back on topic, I'm averaging close to 18 MPG back and forth to work during the week (all highway). The more running around I do during the week and on the weekends brings that number down a bit.

I get 18 and 19 mpg on the highway frequently. The gas mileage I get in this truck is no worse than other full size trucks I've owned. It's only 1 mpg worse than the V6 Frontier. I think Titans have gotten a bad reputation because many Titan owners are in their first full size truck and because it has a foreign name plate. People have the opinion that foreign means better mileage. If people took the time to actually read the EPA sticker on the window when they bought their Titan they wouldn't be so surprised.

I'm taking the family to Disney World next week and we are taking the Titan. My wife's Accord gets better mileage but the Titan is much more comfortable on the highway.
