Hi all. My TPMS light has been on for a few days on my 08 SE. I thought this was unusual because my truck has 1800 miles on it. So I finally got around to manually checking the PSI, and all tires are at exactly 38 PSI. So what gives here? Anybody have this problem before? Already brought the truck on the highway to attempt to reset the TPMS, light is still on.
Malfunction prob, take it back to the dealer since it should still be under warranty. Mine only activated when pressure was low and from what I hear those things are very expensive so let the dealer foot the bill. Hope you get it resolved.
make sure that all 4 tires have the sensors in them first off. If you have a regular rubber valve stem in any of them then that tire does not have one in it. That will cause the problem. If they all have it then take it in to the dealer.... but if it does not have one then you need to scream at your dealer for selling you a truck without one on it.

Ditto, either that or one or more of your sensors are bad.

The TPMS light will also light up if it senses a piece of metal. Do you have a nail/screw in any of your tires?
I don't think so unless there is with no leak. I'll take it to the dealer today after looking for screws/nails. All four tire do in fact have the TMPS, and I've had the truck for 4 months without prior problems (with the TMPS anyway)
Take to dealer and have them pull the code. Even if the light has turned off it will still have a code stored. I went through this with mine. Ended up being a bad sensor. Replaced, and no problems since.

did you check the spare tire for a tpms sensor and the pressure in that tire?

wow
1. the spare does not have a sensor
2. even if it had, it would not be factored into the system

that raises a question: how do you know if they are wrong? typically my tires are never low......
i'm upgrading to 20's and don't plan on adding the sensors to those... why bother?
hmm they are supposed to be a safety feature but they don't have to be there. would the stock TPMS fit in the new rims? If so if I were you I would swap them over. But thats just me, heck why not just disconnect your ABS fuse and airbag sensors while your at it jk
