Sometimes if I'm at a dead halt and I turn the steering wheel quickly, it'll feel like the power steering kicks in after a short delay. The wheel will show alot of resistance for a split second before it becomes easier. Is this normal? Maybe this happens because the titan is so damn big (and maybe cuz I have 4wd)?
your truck hates you...jk. u have heavy tires or something?

I have stock wheels. If I'm behind 4 or 5 cars at a stop light but the next lane only has one, I'll do a quick lane change to move up. I turn the wheel quickly and gas it if there are other cars coming from behind into that lane. Did that make sense?
I've had a similar expeirence....When it gets wet(kind of rare around here, but it does...) and I'm sliding around corners, sometimes I have a hard time counter-steering if I need to real fast, it's as if the steering won't let me turn too fast...

Remember this....whatever lane you switch to will end up being the slow lane! The grass isn't always greener. Anyhooo, no, I've never noticed this when steering on either of my Titans.

Someone did that in front of me once. I couldn't stop fast enough. We both ended up in the body shops.
Also, he wasn't able to move up faster as it was about 5 cycles of the traffic light to exchange information. He claimed he saw me coming, but thought I would stop before hitting him. I tried to.
P.S., I don't know what the lag could be from.... Good Luck.

The Titan has speed sensitive steering. When you move the steering wheel quickly its resistance increases in an attempt to not let the driver "over steer".

I have had mine to the dealer a few times for a power steering hose issues. They could not seem to get it right twice. My symptoms would be slightly harder steering at a stop or low speeds, and that audible whine from the pump whenever I would turn the wheel. May not be your issue, but maybe something to look into.
Thanks,
Zack
The steering boost is weak and steering heavy. Its just how it is.
A day of city driving is like a day at the gym. Parking is a nightmare.
Speed sensitive steering at dead stop? You know how this is supposed to work, right? SPEED, aka vehicle speed, not speed with which you turn the wheel. Just pointing this out

Well at parking and low speeds there should be plenty of steering assist, which mine has, and as speed increases the assist decrease to provide road feedback to the driver...

at parking speeds i can at best describe it as a 90s jetta steering.. very heavy except that it has hints of lag. obviously the system is straining to keep up.
at speed i havent noticed it tightening at all... then again, i havent tried to rotate a full turn at 80mph, but i get buick like resistance at speed. basically higher rpms = more system boost. ironic
it only annoys me if i am driving city for a while, which is rare. rural folks wont even notice this

Sounds like low/no assist at any speed...without checking anything else, I'd suspect the p/s pump...I've done a little homework on this, but haven't found the variable assist details yet. Maybe another member has some documents on this...
