fried coils

i posted up yesterday but no one responded my service engine soon light has been on for quite a while just thought it was do to a mishap i had a while back with my exhaust heating up all the wiring above the exit...everything got melted together... anyways the other day i had a coil burn up found out which one it was( number 2 cylinder on the passenger side) so i replaced it well couple days later the same cylinder coil fried again had a buddy pull the codes one was P0447 and the other was U1000 would these have anything to do with my problem id rather not take it to the dealer if i dont have to since its modified and out of warranty any help would be appreciated

Check your ground, with the link to U1000 attached? You have a CAN problem according to that code.

idk about your problem but your truck looks awesome. this is coming from a guy who doesnt like dropped trucks.

so the u1000 refers to grounds...if i go through every ground i can find externally and reattach how do i know this will solve my problem also on that evac thing how can i test the valve and if thats good how do i know what voltage is suppose to go to it

Read the link, there is a TSB for the U1000:

" Ive read the related TSB and it states that connector F9 could be not sealed properly against the elements."

As far as electrical problems go, unless you have the equipment and know how and even then, it's tough sometimes to track down.

There is also a TSB for the 0447.

Go to nissanhelp, join up and download the TSB's.

I can't recall of anyone reporting frying the coil packs. If we have had any, they are very few and far between making it a very uncommon problem.

Maybe a Nissan Tech will see this thread and pitch in for you.

just because i try to be different in what i like to do you dont have to put my truck down everything i touch has to be modified its just what i do just cuz its on airbags doesnt mean thats necessarily the problem

I wasn't putting your personal truck down. Lowered trucks in general are enough to get me laughing hysterically! They look like poor people-mobiles owned by someone who can't afford new shocks to me....regardless of what it cost to actually bastardize a truck like that. Raised trucks ok, but lowered? Funny stuff. Even Civics that can scrape the ground and hide half the wheels in the wheelwells make me wanna stop and smack the kid driving it. But.....then again, maybe it's just me.
I do like the paint job, and it does look like a lot of work went into it though.

That aside, I can't offer any advice. I'm not good with the electrical side of things.

I had the same problem. You definitly have a bad ground somewhere for your ECU. I had a slightly corroded ground on mine. Mine was under warranty so the dealer took care of it.

I agree with that - not huge on dropped trucks but that is one SICK looking Titan! How much to slam something like that to the frame rails I wonder...

I'm not sure of the codes at all, but if they are saying grounds, look for externals first, then start looking actual connectors, even though they appear sealed, it still gets water in and corrodes, 5 years as an electrician on the prowler, it's amazing how that one little problem kicks our a**es for quite some time. Just be patient, pull connectors apart, use some connector cleaner, examine it for anything inside it, and then add a slight bit of di-electric grease to help keep water out. That's the best I can say. By the way, truck looks pretty nice! Inside pretty custom too?

Air suspension? If so would you mind posting some close ups of the suspension? I always like seeing how people modify the stock suspension.
