Re: those of you with camper shells

Whenever traveling long distances with the dog (over 200 miles) or hauling a lot of work stuff, this is the shell I use. This isn't my truck (the guy''s truck who sold it to me), but it is the shell. I only paid a $100, so I didn't care what color it was. I have really enjoyed it. It is a Jason brand (the most basic model) upgraded with a battery powered interior light, dual sliding side window with screens, LED rear stop light and front sliding window. My only complaint is the the original seal around the rear window isn't so hot. I am going to replace it soon. It lets water in if you run through a car wash. Through normal rain storms, just a little water gets in though.

Leer, color matched, sliding front window, otherwise same as Tholmes except the interior is lined; $450 new in early '05.

Just want to use it when hauling the dogs camping and also going on quick camping trips and leaving the toyhauler at home. would only have it on the truck at those times.

Re: those of you with camper shells

There are plenty of worse things you could do than a camper shell. If you get the right one it looks nice.

Re: those of you with camper shells

I got a Leer 180 mid rise. The extra 6 inches of headroom will be nice because I am planning on building a sleeping loft with storage underneath. With headliner, extra battery light, 2 drop down coat hangers (nice for drying wet gear), and pop out front window it was 1800. The mid-rise makes the truck look pretty burly and no-one will mistake it for an SUV. Snugtop has the best quality I think, but don't have a Titan mid rise yet
