Angry Driver Side Power Window Issue

I'm having an issue with my drivers side power window going up and down. It is EXTREMELY slow whether its going up or down. I try not to roll it down much because I feel that it may get stuck. Today it went down and wouldnt go back up. I waited a minute or so then tried to roll it back up and it worked. I've been reading some of the posts on here about power window issues. Before I take the door panel off and start digging, has anybody else had this issue? I know some of you said the switch was your problem. By the looks of it, I'm leaning more on the motor. Any help would be great!!

Yes. The motors on them are weak, and they do go.. The rear doors are usually worse. But one thing that helps is to keep the window tracks lubricated. The less friction the mechanism needs to overcome, the longer it will stay functioning well.

Re: Driver Side Power Window Issue

I heard somewhere that better grounding helps a little.

Re: Driver Side Power Window Issue

My driver side has always been a bit slower than the passenger side, since day 1. Never have I been concerned that is was not going to come back up. It sounds like the motor is weak and possibly on the way out.

Re: Driver Side Power Window Issue

Nissan is known for that I guess!! My pathfinder has a slow Passenger front. I thought it was the tint, but I m starting to beleive it is the motor.

Re: Driver Side Power Window Issue

I also have a problem with my drivers side window. Most of the time when I try to roll it up, it will go half way then go back down. Now it won't work at all. Fortunately it quit working with it in the up position. Any ideas would be appreciated. All other windows work just fine.

Motor replacement or something eles?

If you hear a solenoid click when you use the switch, that means the switch is ok, so then the motor is the culprit. If you don't hear the solenoid click, then replace the switch.

Re: Driver Side Power Window Issue

You can try and lubricate the window run-rubber with some penetrating fluid, that seems to work better than spray lube or spray grease. you just have to clean the window off afterwards!!

Re: Driver Side Power Window Issue

My driver side window is also slow and makes creaking noises when going up. Plan on cleaning the track and lube it up this weekend.
