Not only do I have to work on my birthday, if on schedule, I have to work all holidays. Including Christmas if I am on schedule. This year I will be working Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New year.

Re: You say it's your birthday...
I worked my b-day this year. It was an off-friday for me ( 9/80 work schedule ) and I happen to work 12 hours that day. 8 was OT and the other 4 was double time.
Very well worth it when I got my paycheck!
Happy Birthday PS

No, my job doesn't suck. I work 7&7, so I only work 6 months a year. I also get 21 days vacation a year. So I technically only work just over 5 months a year. I just work far from home, and can't afford to take a day off in the middle of the week. I would hate to drive 13 hours just to have one day off during my schedule.

Nope, I work for a private helo company that supports the oil field. We work the same schedule as them. I get about 201 days a year off.

Yeah helo gets 6 months to shoot pigs, sit in his hot tub and get stuck in the mud and not have to worry about getting to work on Monday.
I remember the days of working all the holidays. We got super good bonus pay for working holidays, it almost a fight as to who got the pager.

We don't get any extra pay for holidays.

Yup, I don't feel bad for you at all.... I'd work every holiday if it means getting more than half the year off. Sounds like a good gig to me.
