Re: linex on front and rear bumper- made the appointment!
great job! So they Line-X'd the plastic and all on the rear bumper? I guess that stuff sticks to everything. Really cool, make sure to get us some pics of the entire truck. I might entertain doing this to my truck as long as they can guarentee it will stick to chrome.
Re: linex on front and rear bumper- made the appointment!
Thanks for the comments.
They did an excellent job. Linex doesn't like unpainted plastic, so I believe there was a fair amount of prep involved for the rear. The seam between the two pieces looks very crisp. It sparkles like an asphalt shingle in the sun.
I'm half-way through a zaino application now. I'll get a full shot with the flyrod rack once I'm through.

Speaking of guarantee... the bumpers aren't guaranteed. They only guarantee the bed. I'm not concerned, after seeing the end result. I just thought I'd put it out there for anyone else considering linex on their bumpers.
Jasonmotox, I'm quite sure it would adhere to your chrome bumper very well. You may not have the stomach to watch them prep it though.

I don't care about the chrome too much anymore, hell the first weekend I had it, we drove it thru some nasty stuff at the hunt club to break er in. I got the pin stripes to prove it!
Can't wait to see the full shot. My wife drives my old 04' canteen green machine now, but I still don't mind modding it.
Re: linex on front and rear bumper- made the appointment!
Rob, looks great. Your right about the black rims, they'd add alot. What I did with my stock steelies was just sprayed them Krylon flat black. There holding up pretty good so far after 5 months.
Re: linex on front and rear bumper- made the appointment!
I remember reading is not good to line x the wheels cause it would be hard to balance them out. However duplicolor has a spray that is almost as the bed coating, and people have spray their wheels w/it and have no problems balancing them out....
I also may go this route if I dont get a replacement bumper for both front and rear....

It's flyfishing only for Atlantic salmon. Look carefully; That's a 14'-0" spey rod on that rack. The rack holds 4 rods firmly. Because of the torque generated with 2-handed spey rods, the joints must be taped while setting up, so that they don't work loose and explode (that's really the best term for it... it's heartbreaking to watch a $1200 rod blow apart because it wasn't taped). Add hundreds of black flies to help you out, and setting up a rod becomes a real hassle. You also tend to stay at non-productive pools rather than load up your gear and head down to the next one.
It's a major pain to tear down your rod and put it in the truck to go to the next pool. Sometimes I hit 5-6 pools in a morning before we get in to fish. We just throw them on the rack, jump in the truck, drive to the next pool and we're ready. Anyone that's ever set up a 2-handed fly rod loves the concept. It takes about 30 mins to wax and tape the joints otherwise. If I trust my gear to that rack, than it must be good. That particular rod/reel cost as much as a nice set of wheels and tires.
