Just noticed....

When we first got the truck and I would close a door that the truck would make a noise coming from the mid rear of the truck and I knew it always bothered me cause on our old Chevy when I hear this noise the back window flexed out so it got me kinda worried, So the other day I closed the back door and looked in between the bed and the cab and a little flap opens up to relieve cabin pressure, So this got me thinking that maybe its not properly sealed when it closes so that what lets the moisture in and causes mold for some of you guys out there?

Is it leaking? If not, don't worry about it. GM has had those vents for years!

Moisture and water.. My truck had a bad seal around the rear glass that caused water to get in and pool in the rear corners of the cab which was easily fixed by dealer. The vents allow your fresh air to come in the front and exit the rear.

The mold cases I've generally seen on here have come from either a leaky rear window seal, as mentioned above, or the A/C condensate line dripping onto the front passenger's carpet... Not from these pressure relief vents....

Alright just making sure that everyone was aware of it lol, pretty cool thing ive never noticed a relief vent in any other car/truck ive been in

Most vehicles have them. In cars it's usually behind the bumper cover so you don't see it.

Oh but ive never noticed the sound before either way pretty cool thing, lots of things to be found out about this truck lol
