Angry NO MORE Offroading?!?!?!?!?!

Please check this out. http://www.azcentral.com/news/articl...hwayRules.html Get involved with your states offroad coalitions or this could happen to you. I can't believe they are trying to do this. It's the 1% of @ssclowns that make the rest of us look irresponsible and stupid.

Re: NO MORE Offroading?!?!?!?!?!

. . . trying to control dust

Trying to control dust in the Valley of the Sun makes alot of sense. It's kind of like trying to control the rain in Seattle.

The Valley (and Arizona in general) is a dusty place. I think it's funny that people complain about it. It reminds me of those people (haoles) in Hawaii who built their houses on the Kilauea lava fields and then acted surprised and shocked when their houses were burned and buried under 20 feet of lava.

I love driving my Titan and riding my DRZ 400 around Desert Wells near A.J. I hope they don't close it.

no kidding SunDevil, it's just another angle the tree-huggers are using....they use preservation of wildlife, preservation of state parks, etc and now dust.

ridiculous.

Ya but the OP is in AZ. In the western U.S. there aren't too many farms/large pieces of private property to ride around on. Rather, most areas are BLM, Forest Service, National Parks, State Parks, et cetera. We have to contend with a variety of government regulations, which are getting more and more stringent every day.

Re: NO MORE Offroading?!?!?!?!?!

Most farms and ranches out here cater to horses, which is cool, but they just don't have the trails for us. Effin Politicians screw everything up!!!!

Re: NO MORE Offroading?!?!?!?!?!

Gyrate must be in Texas. No open land there.
This issue is a constant battle everywhere.
Back in the late 80's, Az made a law to give a very small percentage of gas tax money to offroaders, based on the # of registered offroad vehicles, to be used for the hobby/sport. The amount was so unexpectedly high, the lawmakers instantly revoked it, citing that "they don't need that kind of money". Our mudflap law came about because some politician got splashed on one of the few occasions it rained. We voted down a tax increase to pay for the Diamondbacks' stadium. Our gov't taxed us anyway. Greedy gov'ts suck a**!
I want to see a study comparing offroaders' dust to the dust raised by traffic, landscapers, construction, etc. Then I'll sit down and talk land closers with them.
I do support designated offroad areas like Ca. has. We do have a couple, but they are for nothing bigger than SXS's.
Thanks for letting me vent.
