Just wanted to say hi. I am new here, and just got a titan. I just got a 06 titan LE 4x4. It is sweet. I got it with 34k miles. It is still like brand new, it was a ladies dream truck and she babied it. the bed doesn't even have scratches. Got it $7k under bluebook. I am pretty happy about it. I was going to get a same year tundra, but found out that it cant tow anything for weight. Which brings me to my first question. I have been reading on this site for a week now and seen that there is a big tow package, which tows approx. 9400lbs (which is what I need). Now I did not know there was different models like that when I was researching to buy. So I have a 7 pin tow outlet, a tow hitch, tow hooks in the front, tow button in the cab, but normal automatic mirrors, not extendable. I also don't have a transmission temp gauge in the dash cluster. When I was researching it showed one titan le version and said it can tow approx. 9400lbs. So is there a place that it will say? I have all manuals, and have checked the door stickers and found nothing. Help me if you can. I know many others have posted the same thing, I guess I am in their unsure class. Thanks guys, and I like the site.

An off-road package for 4WD models consists of a unique lower-ratio Dana axle, switch-on-demand electronically activated locking rear differential, Rancho performance gas shock absorbers, large all-terrain tires, fog lights, and skid plates for the radiator, oil pan and transfer case. The Trac Package ($300) adds the locking differential to a 2WD XE or SE.

Welcome to the site disaster, glad to have you here. To answer your question about the big tow package, most people will say that if it does not have the B/T mirrors and a trans-temp gauge then it does not have the B/T package, although it has been found that some with the B/T package don't have the gauge or mirrors, only way to really tell is to find out what size gears are in the rear diff. I know you can find a code on the diff. axle and some of the guys on here will be able to tell you the gear ratio based on those numbers, so maybe if you can find the serial number on the rear axle and run it acroos the site, someone might be able to tell you if it is geared for the B/T package or not.
Again, welcome to TT.

I have the fog lights, I think skid plates, I know I don't have the locker, I looked where it is supposed to be in the manual and I don't have that button there, I have large at tires, not sure what large is, but these are big, I am not sure about the shocks, I will have to crawl under to get the gear ratio code off the diff cover. I wish I had the locker, but the truck was such a good deal and 100% of what my wife and I were looking for until I found out this tow info. So basically the only thing different between the packages is the gear ratio for towing with a lot of weight and maybe some 10 ply tires or something. The rest is not really needed unless you tow something wide...I wish I could install a rear locker for $300. Will a dealership still do that for that price, even if the car was not bought from Nissan? That would be a sweet upgrade. Thanks for the help.

Thanks guys, I really enjoy the site. There is tons of useful stuff here. People are friendly and helpful. I will have to ask what that costs at the dealership. I plan to lift in about 6 months, so I will not need the rancho shocks, since I would have to get longer ones, not sure what else I would not need.
