Re: What MPG are you guys getting with your Fat A55 35 inch tires

from what i've seen it's the stock wheels that keep you from rubbing. it's the guys that do a leveling kit and put on aftermarket wheels with the tires that rub alot. plus i'm going with terragrapplers and not some aggresive M/T so i'll have less tread to worry about rubbing also. i doubt i'm going to go with 35's now anyway because of gas prices and the fact that i can barely afford to fill up my truck as it is.

Re: What MPG are you guys getting with your Fat A55 35 inch tires

It's not so much aftermarket wheels that make you rub, but aftermarket wheels that are not purchased in the correct offset and backspacing.

IMO, backspacing and offset is EVERYTHING.

Re: What MPG are you guys getting with your Fat A55 35 inch tires

I will also confirm that it is possible to run 35's with a leveling kit. I have a 2007 CC 4x4 non-BT, running the NCD 2" leveling spacers, with a set of 17" offroad wheels and 315/70R17 BFG AT's. I didn't even need to do the pinch weld mod, I just trimmed a little meat of the front left mud flap. The tires will rub the mud guards only a little when I'm turning and going over a bump at the same time. I'm currently using a K @ N drop in filter and I average 12.5-13 in the city. I can't get a good Hwy figure because of all the traffic. I recently swapped the muffler for a glasspack, and it appears that I'm getting slightly higher mileage. I try not to floor it too much now because it sounds like an old GTO on steroids. Don't get me wrong, I love it, but it scares people. LOL

Re: What MPG are you guys getting with your Fat A55 35 inch tires

I have 35z on 20"s I get a steady 10mpg tank to tank...

also with 10" wide wheels backspace doesn't matter... you'll always rub.. because you can only fit 5.5ish backspace... I have 5.79 and my toyo MTs rub the frame was thinking of getting 13.5"s for the next set but not sure now maybe I'll put on my 1/4" wheel spacers one day... or just stick some 2" ones on and see how much I rub the place where my pinch weld used to be

because some people would like to have a bad *** full size truck with the best gas mileage we can get. Why wouldnt you want to have the most efficiency you can have and still have the lift and tires like you want. So your telling me if you can have truck A that gets say 14mpg or truck be that gets 10 mpg with the lift and tires your going to pick truck B just cause who cares about gas mileage? Dude STFU your a trip.

Oh and just maybe just maybe you ever though of this one? Maybe some people would like to get an idea on what lifted trucks or getting so that can decided on the pros and cons on getting a lift to decide if they want one or not.

Re: What MPG are you guys getting with your Fat A55 35 inch tires

I lost count.... First off my speedo is off cause of the new tires, so it looks like I travel less than I really do cause I haven't calibrated it yet! So know way for any body to really know what they get with 35's. I just go till 1/4 tank and hit up a Costsco cause there gas is always so tastefully cheap. Yummy! All I know is that its not as good as having stock tires on it! Also, learn to love the truck and cruise in it more not thromping the pedal all the time. On the freeway try to keep it on or just above the 2 RPM mark the sweet spot for the freeway you will be getting the best gas mileage.
