2008 or 2007?

Hello, just joined the forums today. I just bought a used 2008 Titan, and trying to figure out what it will take to replace the stereo. Well I came accross this forum, and noticed another guy with an 08 replaced his, but his dash looks totally different. Looking at at the various kits online, my dash looks like the 04 and up. EDIT: Looking around my truck more, it says constructed in 08/07. Looking at the pictures attached to my post, should I just take it that I should order stuff for an 07? If I go with double din, would I get this one http://www.audiooutfitter.com/99-740...a/p102967.html even though it says for 2004 and up? Which one would I get for the Single DIN?

I would say you might have an 08.5 because that is the only radio that came with 08.5 XE KC or CC whether you have Preferred package or not.

I got a single din Metra dash kit from Circuit $hity for 22 bucks, found a wiring guide online and hard wired the speaker and power connections. For the antenna I used an 07 maxima adapter.

Edit: Mine was built 05/07 The dask it was for an 08 I'll see if i can find the part number for you

I did a search for XE, and it still looks nothing like mine.

Those are pics of an LE with dual air, not an XE. The consol pic you showed from your truck looks like an 07, not an 08...but I'm not familiar with the XEs. Those controls/knobs though are the old design, not the new one. And the 12V recepticles on the dash are no longer in those positions for 08. Unless someone else can confirm that their 08 XE looks the same, that looks to be an 07 truck.....but.....with an 08/07 build date, It should be an 08...I'm confused...lol.

I see that. But does the 08 XE have last years consol? Again, I've never seen an XE interior.



EDIT - ok, it does look like they used last years dash on the XE.

I am pretty sure all '08 and '08.5 XE's do.

Looks that way. Sorry for the XE ignorance...lol. My dealer never has XEs because they say the SE is the more sought after entry model around here. I just found it interesting that all the other models changed the consol except for the XEs.

If your going with a double din head unit, just use the stock XE single CD bezel, the one that you have already. It has been said that the DD HU's fit much nicer in the stock bezel than the aftermarket kits. Contact Tech12volt with any How To questions, he is a supporting Gold vender on here.

Your '08 center dash looks like my now totaled '04.
Here is what mine looked like with a double din. I didn't do the install myself, but, I seem to recall that the Metra unit did not fit well, and my buddy installed a different unit (sorry, I don't recall the brand name).

Thanks for all the replies. Now the trick is finding the right stereo / amp / speakers. You guys just use component 6x9's in the front doors with tweeter running to stock tweeter location in Dash? Looks like components 6.5" in the rear door. Maybe throw a Bazooka subwoofer or something under the rear seat?
