So..... what exactly does the Warranty Cover....?

Today at work, i was confronted by some random dude.... (he works in sales i think... seen him around a few times, but dont really know him) parked next to me in his new 08 Maxima (not the 09). he got a silver one also, (like my truck) and i said... "nice color". he said thanks and asked where i got my truck at. i told him i got it at ______ nissan for X amount.

then he says... did you get the extended warranty? i told him no, that the regular warranty was fine. he also asked if i got the oil changes and stuff with the warranty.

Apparently, his dealer gives him free oil changes until the warranty expires?

Is true? or what exactly does it cover for a Brand new 3 month old truck? what else is covered that the manual doesn't specify. i got the first oil change free... but if thats the case, then....??

Some dealers give "free" oil changes. I put "free" in quotes because the cost is built into the dealer overhead so you pay for it one way or another.

Nissan corporate does not have a "Free" oil change plan with new vehicles. The regular warranty covers pretty much everything that goes wrong for the first 12K miles, then starts to exclude wear items like wipers and brakes. There are exceptions of course (like the brake judder TSB) The BTB warranty then goes to 36K.

The drivetrain / tranny / diffs and engine are covered to 60K and any emissions components are covered to 80K.

Pretty much same as the manual... i see. well. thanks for clarification. honestly i'd rather be in my garage chaning fluids/filters than in the nissan lobby watching some Informercial!
