New Tires!

Its just about that time, I told myself I would let the tread wear down a bit before I would get new tires. Im growing a bit impatient so Im going to go ahead and pull the trigger. Now I need some suggestions... I have the stock 17" rim and and 2.5" leveling kit on a 2wd CC. So the question is, What size tires can I fit without having any rubbing, and then what tires do you guys sugguest?

Looking forward to the suggestions, Thanks in advance fellas.

What are you looking for in a tire?
Street, Mud, Snow, Dirt?

Re: New Tires!

Wow that big?

I'm looking for something a bit more aggressive than a normal tire, but still does very well on the street. Having the 2wd I might be able to benefit a bit more in certain conditions from the more aggressive tires. I definitely want to go bigger than the 26.5 I have currently, just not quite cutting it...

26.5? No your reading your tire size wrong
it probably says 265/65/17, which is around 30/31 inches

As for agressive you probably want an AT or All Terrain tire
BFGoodrich makes some nice ones, as does Pro Comp
Nitto Terra Grappler is also a very popular tire, you may want to check that one out

Re: New Tires!

Ah I see, I just always assumed that was the size for some reason. Say I went 33" on the stock rim, what would the numbers read out as? I'm tire ignorant

Re: New Tires!

Could be around a 305/65/17 or a 315/65/17

a 305/65/17 is 32.6 inches tall
a 315/65/17 is 33.1 inches tall

I just recently learned how to tell tires also
I go to this site for reference
Tire size calculator

Re: New Tires!

I would go BFG A/T KO's in the 33" size. I have the 35" version, but hands down they are the best all around tires I have owned to date on any vehicle. In sand, they kick ***. Good wet traction too, and low road noise. Do it!

Re: New Tires!

Bridgestone REVOs are an excellent choice on these trucks. I had them on my 04 and they were great. More aggresive than the stockers and cheaper than the BFG KOs which are overkill IMO....but still a great tire.
