exhaust manifolds warranty question

Are the exhaust manifolds covered under the emissions' 100K warranty or only 60K powertrain?

Re: exhaust manifolds warranty question

Yes they are covered until 80,000. Do a search there is a lot about it on this site.

Also don't let the dealer tell you they are not. My dealer did and I had to set them stright.

The cat and the manifold is all one piece.

Re: exhaust manifolds warranty question

The cats are covered under the Federal mandated 8 years/80,000 miles warranty. If you need the specific problem codes so the dealer can write it up correctly, PM NissanMike and he can get them to you.

A ticking noise coming from the exhaust where it leaves the side of the engine = cracked manifold. Also when I had the problem, I noticed reduced gas mileage.

Re: exhaust manifolds warranty question

Here lately, my truck has been sounding like a diesel in the cold weather. I've heard this before, but have NEVER heard anything like it. Last I remember, it was due to the battery grounding wire being too small. I actually just replaced the factory battery last month with an Interstate one, so I wonder if this is the reason.

Can you tell me more about the cracked exhaust manifold noise? I kinda hope it is cracked, so I don't need to replace it out of warranty! I have 64K currently.....

Nothing more than a loud ticking sound. I had brought mine into the dealer to have them verify it was the exhaust manifold.

Here are the pages you need to be concerned with from the warranty book...

Just found the codes. AT46 & AT47. The service writer should know what they mean.

Good job Mantis,you remembered.
In December,Nissan sent out a bulletin to it's dealers reminding them of the correct coding and coverage, hopefully this cleared up the confusion.

Re: exhaust manifolds warranty question

According to the warranty info above it states that the cats and ecm are covered until the 80k mark. Everything else including the exhaust manifold are covered to the 36k mark. Being that they are one piece does that mean if your cat goes out you get a free manifold but if your manifold goes out you have to pay for a cat?

I've had both manifolds cracked and replace under the 8 year 80,000 warranty. The manifolds are covered because the cats are attached.

Re: exhaust manifolds warranty question

Thats good to know. But by the way they have it worded I can see why some dealerships may get confused.

I finally got around to taking mine in and I have the nissan "Gold" warranty for 75k well my odometer says 74,46x they said both my manifolds are cracked and that I would be covered for the 1800.00 worth of warranty work with a 50.00 dollar co-pay....................................buttttttttt ttt I also have to pay an extra 250.00 in labor cost due to my truck being lifted outta pocket????? Wtf??? I thought it would make it easier with the body lift if anything. I took my truck so I could call around other dealers and they were saying the same thing. The original dealer said I better hurry cause if I don't get it back before 75k it won't be covered!
Any insight on this?
