What a pity. Everyone was hoping for the 500hp Lightning. I think their incredible trucks, myself. I will say this however...I have read many threads posted on the Ford sites about guys there not waiting to be able to get their hands on one for the purpose of being able to spank a Titan. First, I think its funny that they would even put the two trucks in the same class, obviously aware that Ford's current effort falls well short. Second, it seems none of them will get their merry wish. For now anyway.

I looked hard at the Dodge... but too much $$$$ and I really wanted a 4x4. I can't believe they are not going to make the Lighting anymore. My friend had one and it was really nice.

I too think they are incredible trucks. But I think they should have offered it in a 4WD version to appeal to a much greater customer base (Dodge too). I mean, I know these are sport trucks, but just look at how many 4X4 owners there are out there. For many, myself incl, there is no option except a 4X4 due to where I live. It's much less expensive to buy a truck with oem sc than to install aftermarket and have to battle the dealer over every warranty issue.
It's funny what you said about the ford guys wanting to spank a Titan. I'd say at least once a week, I get a Lightnin wanting to race my Titan! I even had one follow me for several miles, trying to get me to "go"! I just looked at him like "you must think I'm stupid".

I love the lightening's capabilities! I dislike Ford enough to never buy one though. Does that article mean there was not a lightening for the new F-150's body style? I could have sworn they were releasing one.
For the first time, I saw an F250 Harley Davidson just yesterday and I was wondering, since it's a diesel, what power mods it rec'd (since the Harley F150 had a blower too). Does anyone know?
There will be another Lighting. @ late 06 as an 07
what source are you quoting if you dont mind me asking. not that i believe everything that i read, it just seems a little facetious to say that they will be coming back in 06-07 w/ no source. thanks.
They are working on the 2006 Mustang Cobra...SWEET.
Actually, I went to a dealer today to look at some new 2005 Mustangs...WOW. They are really nice man...REALLY nice. I guess they go from 0-60 in 5.2. What does the Titan get?
I saw that on tv today, there main focus is going to be the cobra, and it isn't
going to be out until I think they said late 05 as a 06 model , and then they would likely be out with a 06, or 07 lightning
Not sure if you're interested, but the Lightning crash test ratings suck, and thats important to me.
Crickett
yes, crash tests are important to me. my reason for even bringin up this article is to point to the fact that one less sport truck is going to be on the market. and because of that, nissan may see it as a reason not to produce a hi-po version of the TITAN. personally, i love the lightnings and wish they had an all-wheel-drive extended cab version. now, having said that, i cant wait for the new cobras to come out b/c that means my dad will sell his 10th anniversary cobra convt. to me
Location: Black Mountain, N.C. with the mountains and winding roads = FUN!!!

You will also notice they are geared pretty high, so they die off pretty quick shortly after that. They are good for the 1/8 mile, but start to fall off by the 1/4. Good for light to light races, but going from a roll they are pretty slow.

Darn shame about the L. Those are some sweet trucks! If I didnt want a 4x4 so bad, I would have gotten a Harley Davidson F-150. Got to love factory boost.
