I just had the new radio installed in my truck and my SSV is not working like it did before! There now is very little change in vol. between off and the high settings, I was wondering if this was just with my radio or if everybody's new radio's are like this? I'm very unhappy with the sound, it has alot static on fm, Am seems to come in ok. I'm thinking that Nissan might have had them adjust the SSV on the new radio's because of alot of calls on this.
My dealer is getting no help from the vender on this! Any info that I can get from members on this would be helpful! Thanks for all your responses!
Deep.
I'm still curious if anyone did Jet Tech's radio adjustment,
and then had their radio replaced after. Which worked
better? Or are the ones of you who followed Dale's
procedure and got good results too satisfied to get
the radio replaced? I've been too lazy to do either,
yet.

I did JetTech's radio adjustment and it did improve the reception but it could still use a little help. My problem is two fold:
1, I hardly listen to the radio, prefer CD's instead.
2, Don't want to hassle with the dealer/service unless I have something else going wrong that is covered under warranty, and dang it, wouldn't you know it everything is fine with the Titan. Bummer? I don't think so.

Yeah, but don't you ever get tired of those Culture Club cd's?

No problems with mine, but I have noticed that there does seem to be a slight fade every once in awhile - this just might be the normal reception problems with FM stations that you deal with regardless of what kind of car you drive

All functions on my new radiao are fine, the SSV is slightly lesser than before but not to bad. I personally like the more gradual change than it had before.

I didn't notice much difference in the old radio and the new one, I'm wondering if they really changed it out or left the same one in and just erased all the channels. I had 5 cd's in there and they were all there but two of them were in a different order.
if your cds were still there, you have the same radio! My dealer has replaced my stereo 2 times, and they managed to send my cd's out with them both times. I'd have to question your dealer.

Having done the radio TSB change and having had the SSV off all the time on both radios, my FM reception is much better and the radio volume is closer to that of the CD player volume. So there must have been improvements in the new radio that had nothing to do with the SSV. Maybe check the new radio part number to make sure there wasn't a screw up that resulted in the old style radio being installed instead.

Thanks for all the info so far! I'm still wondering if everyone's ssv is the same as on the old radio? Or did they changed the ssv on all the new radio's? my old radio would have alot of vol. change when set on the high setting. Now with the new radio I can only hear very little to no change in the vol. no matter where it's set at -off or low - mid-high. I really like the way it changed before on the old radio! I have a 19 month old and I could set the vol. and not have to adjust it, it would get louder on the highway and would get softer when you slowed down! Now it's all about the same volume and I dont like having to adjust it myself, I like the way it was before, and hope that they can sent me out a new radio that dose not have this static on fm and no ssv.
The Medium SSV setting on my new unit is roughly the same as the low setting on my old one. I like the more subtle change in volume, and I actually use it now on the low setting.

My b-o-d is 2/04 and my main problem with my radio is that it sounds ten times crapier than the cd ,,which sounds pretty good to me,,,,is this part of the problem everyone is having???
