Warranty info

Anybody have a non-nissan extended warranty. I know probably most people aren't to a point where it would be an issue, but I am interested in buying one.

In my opinion buy the Nissan warrenty . I know that here in Canada Nissan uses only Nissan parts for the full length of the extended time , I am almost certain other warrenties will use jobber or aftermarket parts . You can't put a price on original fit and finish quality . Hope this helps

I agree with leeroy300...Go ahead and get the Nissan warranty - It's accepted by any Nissan dealer. If you ever have to use it, you'll be glad you did. Remember that price is negotiable on extended warranties so check with more than one dealer...

I purchased a SmartChoice warranty along with my last car in May of 2002. Little did I know that the company had entered bankruptcy proceedings. When my power steering pump died in the fall of '03 it was like pulling teeth to get someone to make good on it. In the end, the dealer ended up replacing it under the terms of the agreement after I threatened to sue them for selling me the warranty while the company was on it's way to defunct.

The Nissan warranty on the other had is backed by Nissan which is how they talked me into it this time. Hopefully Nissan doesn't manage to go under in the next 6 years/72k miles I own the Titan.
