Lowering a titan.

After months of looking, I finally found a lowering kit to lower my titan. The only thing it that the kit comes with coils, leaf springs and a drop shackle. I found the right size rear shock, but apparently they don't sell the front shocks needed for the drop... Can anyone help me out here... do i need the front shock, can i just use the stock one? Thanks guys i appreciate it

Re: Lowering a titan.

I have an 08 se cc and just installed McGaughys 2-3" drop. Came with front coil springs and rear leaf springs, everything you need for the drop. Got mine through stillen for about $460. Me and my pops installed this in the garage. pretty easy, better with two people though. I luv the way the truck looks and rides now.

Re: Lowering a titan.

stock shocks fit but they suck . Last i checked no one made a lowered shock yet. If still nobody does get the bilstein stock replacement. Night and day better than stock. But check toxic first they were supposed to make one

Re: Lowering a titan.

I'm dropped 2/4 and Greg (PRG) hooked me up with the correct length rear Bilstein for the drop. The front struts don't need replacement, because the stock size is still used. IMO if you're going to change the rear shocks you might as well do the front at the same time.

Re: Lowering a titan.

So far i havn't found anyone yet. the only company that i found and that ive been recommended is BELLTECH... BUT, here comes the BUT. BUT, you have to use your stock coils. Belltech has a 2 drop strut. Now, using a 2 drop strut on a 2 drop coil will drop it 4 inches. thats pretty much riding on your bump stops. no good for the ride. LOL

I just ordered the Bilsteins replacement from SHOCKWAREHOUSE.COM or PRGPRODUCTS also has them.

Re: Lowering a titan.

Thanks guys, Yeah i checked into toxic and they have nothing. I went to a suspension shop here in town and they said unless they were lifting my Titan they wouldn't touch it. So i'm starting to think it might be rougher on a titan than say a ford or a chevy. I think ill level the back in trying to save the ride and the towing capacity. I'll have some pictures up soon of how it sits now.

the shock wont change the ride hight. The coils will determine that. I waould love to have a 2 inch lowered shock with more compression. Maby a little progressive since its a harsh ride. Greg from prg said somthing about flipping the stock upper arm upsidown for lowered trucks. He said the angle seems to work better. im going to try it eventually. i wan him to valve some shocks and i need new upper ball joints, so ill just install upsidown and try her out

flipping the upper arm... hmm.. might sound like a great plan...

i just installed the Bislteins.. Ride is better... but stiffer... which is better...
