Bleeding the brakes on an 08

I have had my 08 Titan now for about 15 months now with 15k miles and figured I might want to bleed the brake system. They feel a little spongier than when it was new.

I have only bled brakes on one other car in my life, a 1994 Corvette. That is my weekend car. The results were excellent. That car stops on a dime now.

I have a vacuum kit and it worked well on the Corvette. I just took the cap off the master cylinder reservoir and bled at each wheel in the order of right rear, left rear, right front, left front (moving from farthest away to closest). And I just made sure the reservoir stayed full as to not get any air in the system.

Would the steps be any different for my Titan? Any of obvious steps I might have missed?

What kind of brake fluid is the best?

Any good tips would help.

Thanks.

Re: Bleeding the brakes on an 08

Same steps as described above. I just did this to a friends titan after a lift kit.

Re: Bleeding the brakes on an 08

The best fluid (or one of the best) would be Motul RBF 600 but any DOT 3 or DOT 4 will work. Also, if you want to get rid of some of the sponginess, I would suggest upgrading to stainless steel brake lines.
