What are you experiencing? Mine seems to run top notch.. I had first oil change at Nissan Monday 1050 miles. They never mentioned low oil or hearing any noises.. I do run 92-94 octane gas.

I thought they made a special note that the Titan was designed to run on 87 octane? Are you towing anything to warrant the high octane use?
Thanks
Robert

I'm originally from the midwest. We had ethanol blend there, but no I'm in the Northeast I found the gas really stinks. From talking with people from this area it seems the gas is really watered down because of the age of underground tanks.. I did read where the Infiniti SUV has the same engine and they recommend premium gas.

I currently have about 3000 miles on "Quicksilver". Still running Smooth, no rattles or squeaks and no change in the Oil level. I Will be taking her in for an oil change sometime this week. I use 87 Octane.

North East gas problems are due to a high amount of MBTE. A cancer causing substance that increases the cost of fuel and does damage to the environment if it leaks. Just supposed to burn cleaner.

I have had no problems with the engine at all.

I have over 3000 miles on the Armada, and it has been absolutely flawless. the Motor is exceptional. I have not heard or read anything about motor noise.

The only engine problem I've been experiencing since I bought it has been the cry from under the hood to GAS IT!!!

Re: Motor Noise

I have an 05 titan 56k miles on it. Just lost my engine this week. Dealer is putting in a new engine now. Seems like my converters went out and put debree in the engine through the EGR valve. I havent had a lick of trouble until 50k miles I love my titan to death but i know the truck will never be the same even with a new engine. Im a mechanic and i know how mechanics just do enough to get the job done from time to time. Im wondering if Nissan will help me out when i have any other problems. Anyone knows what they do as far as warranty on a new engine?

Re: Motor Noise

I have an 07 with 23k on it. I have taken it to the dealer and left it there for 24 hrs to investigate the noise. They said it's the injectors and it's normal. I asked them to check the manifolds because the noise was not there until the truck hit about 20k. I did my first oil change at 3k and have used mobil 1 5w 30 ever since. It sounds like the valvetrain to me. I even switched back to conventional oil last oil change to see if it made a difference. The funny thing is, when the engine is cold there is no ticking. After a couple of minutes the driver side tick gets really loud and annoying. I have checked all the bolts on my exhuast and they are tight. I don't know, maybe this engine is supposed to sound like a box of rocks.

I have had no problems with the engine at all.

MTBE hasn't been used since 2006 when the 10% Ethanol crap started.

But no, I've had no engine problems/noises in my 04 or my 08.
