Concerned about liquids

Being my first post, I do not believe I have seen others discussing any concerns over Rain/Water dripping on the control panel of the drivers door. I have ordered wind/rain guards, to reduce the problem. Anyone else concerned about long/short term exposure based on what I find is a questionable design. In the past most of the controls for the windows and locks were at least mounted on an angle, which at least kept the moisture moving.
By the way, have been reading this forum for a while and it has been extremely helpful in staying aware of 1st year production issues. I have owned SUV's for over 25 years and could not be happier with my smoke LE. (Except the radio thing)

If you have been reading the forum for a while you will not take this the wrong way...all in good humor, but unless you have a serious chain smoking problem

or a really obnoxious gas problem

have you tried rolling the windows up when it is raining?

Yeah, if you want to get rained on without wetting the window controls, you could open the sunroof.

Actually, I have both problems! No seriously, I like fresh air and had to open the window while at an ATM and a large amount of rain water dropped into the window controls. So far no ill effects, just wondering if anyone has seen problems with those controls as a result of opening the window.

Mine had performed well in rain and snow storms. No shorts yet.

OK, seriously, I know it would be a problem...water and electrical systems are not a good combo. It has only rained twice since I have had my Titan and I have not experienced anything like that. Here in Florida, we are in our dry season, in about a month or two, we will get rain just about everyday. The rain guards should help. I also plan to get the "rain guards" to let the heat out during our brutal summers.

I knew you had a serious side. As with many on this forum, there are issues that push the buttons (so to speak). I purchased mine last week and it rained for the whole week. Every time I open the window the water would drop off the roof on the controls. I immediately ordered the rain guards to find out there are back ordered.
The only other issue is the radio thing. I drove off the lot, turned the radio on and said OK, then dropped in a CD and was blown away by the diference in quality, I guess I was hoping what I had read, would not be a problem for me. It just seems to be more noticable with each day, otherwise great truck.

The ATM at my bank is too low for me to reach from the cab. So I make my wife get out and walk up to the ATM. That would solve the rain problem also.

It seems like a duh thing to me but it seems like every car/truck manufacturer should make the electric window controls 100 percent waterproof. If manufacturers can put waterproof switches on digital cameras and the like, it seems like they could put them on trucks.

Interesting thought, but before I give that solution a shot, do me a favor and post a digital snapshot of your wifes expression as she climbs back in. If there is a big smile for helping you avoid getting water on your door, then I'll give it a try.

You need to go to my bank. The ATMs have a button that allows the entire machine to raise and lower to the height of the vehicle window. Makes it real nice. I just have to drive real carefully as I only have 1/4 inch of clearance on each side of the mirrors when pulling into the slot.

I certainly will attempt to find those covered ATM's. If you read the thread I need that window cracked due to a bodily function problem and a bad habit. Rain guards should do the trick. Still concerned of the occaision that water will fill up the window, lock and mirror controls. Not losing sleep here, just seeing if anyone else have thought about how much water those switches will tolerate. Maybe someone has taken the panel apart to see if this is even an issue.
