100% positive that's the nav screen. If they listed DVD as an added feature make sure it's the one in the console and has a rear flip down screen. Because the nav. unit under the seat will say DVD on it but it only play the navigation DVD and not movie DVD.

I have it in mine, and too be honest i did not think i wanted. I found a truck that was loaded for a great price so i bought it. Now i use it about everyday and love and would never buy a truck without it again.

I feel exactly like that. I didn't think I wanted/needed it, but I use it all the time and probably would get it on my next truck.

I have it and have always loved to explore. I just like to go down some road I've never traveled to see where it ends up. Now, with the NAV, I still do it, but don't worry so much about the compass settings or how far off the beaten track I wander. It's reassuring, and while it's good when you're in an unfamiliar area, I have found so many cool little backroads around my area that I take my little toy out on and romp! And I thought I knew just about
ALL the roads around here! Not to mention, when out in a city or somewhere, and you get hungry, just call up restaurants and it leads you right there! It's priceless!!!!!
Who has one? I am thinking of getting one more for bragging right than anyting. It would be nice to have! What do you guys think? Who has one? Is it nice/nice to use? Is it worth the extra $$?
Definitely worth it. Definitely get one. Anyone saying just get a normal map is dragging their feet trying to be different and prove that they are "too smart" for a GPS. Gimme a break
Can your map tell me exactly how far away I am from my destination, the nearest gas station, the nearest hospital? Can your map re-route me automatically around construction/traffic, with an updated ETA? Probably not

Best reason to get the Nav. is that the backup sensor comes with it. As I understand it, you don't get the backup sonar unless you get the Nav.

Not true. I got backup sonar on my 07 LE without the Nav. I have added after market Nav and love it!

The map may not give you all of that data, but all of them damn signs along the side of the road sure tell you a bunch of that information. How did you survive in this rough world previous to GPS technology?
Your going to get different opinions on this question, but save your $$$$ and consider just buying a garmin or magellan unit that you can mount in the car and switch from one vehicle to another.
I originally was going to purchase my titan without, then a loaded LE was traded in and now I have the nav system. I use it a few times a month, but when I do use it, it is such a great tool I can't imagine not having it. My wife has on in her car that is terrible, so the nav system was not on my wish list initially.
If you have the funds to get it factory, I would do it, you won't regret it. I also had to get GPS coordinates at multiple places and the nav system can do that as well, I think it might even give elevation.

Well of course the map was the best method...but obviously not anymore. Why cling to something b/c it USED to be the best option. LIVE IN THE NOW!

It also largely depends on where you live. Here in the San Francisco Bay Area, I used to dread going into San Francisco because of all of the one way streets and short blocks. If I missed a turn, I would have to guess and hope that the next street where I can make a turn into will lead me back to my missed route since not all of the streets loop back the correct way. All of this within a seconds of missing my turn or I end up going farther down the wrong way.
With a GPS system, I just follow the voice and let it tell me that in 1000 feet my turn is coming up on the left. And if I can't get over to the left because of traffic, I just miss my turn on purpose now, wait the 5 seconds for my GPS to say make a turn at the next block as it recalculated my route already is so much safer than trying to cut across and/or blocking lanes of traffic just to go that one way your directions or map showed.
If you live out in the burbs or further out in the country where traffic is not as bad and street signs are far apart from each other, a good old map may still work for you. But to me, I personally believe that a GPS is one of the best investments you can put in your vehicle if you live in an area where you do not know where all of the streets/freeways/locations are (ie bigger cities or unfamiliar areas).
That said, I did not opt to buy the standard GPS on my 08 Titan but wanted to get an aftermarket NAV head unit system instead so that I can customize the audio more. But as we all know, we're stuck until the new metrakit is released so I am just using my stand alone GPS system plugged into my cigarette lighter for now. Being that the Titan is the largest truck I have owned thus far, I love the fact that I can be on a busy street and concentrate on the cabs, soccer moms, and people on their cell phones as I make my way to my destination and not have to worry about looking at directions as to where to turn next or if I missed it.
Hell. I don't use a map anymore. I use my GPS also. I just don't have one in my Titan. It's portable.
Yeah, me too. Garmin C330 and I LOVE IT

ecrawford,
What aftermarket nav did you go with? I am also looking into a nav unit. Not sure what brand or model to get, I just want a cheaper (250-350) unit with bluetooth and touch screen. Any recommendations? Thanks.
