IMO save your money and get a portable system. I have a TomTom 300. Bought it for my wife. She's electronically challenged but it's easy enough for her to use without having to read the instructions.
The biggest advantage a portable has (other than price) is that it’s portable. You can use it in your car, your wife's car, any car. Not long ago we drove to Miami in our friend's car and brought it along. They liked it so much that they bought one for themselves.
When you’re in a city you are unfamiliar with, my favorite thing is having it display the nearest restaurant, gas station, etc. and then getting turn by turn directions to the place. It gives you more choices than just picking something you saw on the street your hotel is on.

What aftermarket nav did you go with? I am also looking into a nav unit. Not sure what brand or model to get, I just want a cheaper (250-350) unit with bluetooth and touch screen. Any recommendations? Thanks.
I got one from Best Buy for my parents. It is a Magellan. It has blue-tooth and touchscreen. It was about $400.

I ordered mine with the factory NAV and it's nice...BUT.... i would definitely not get it again. You have to be at a complete stop to use it.. any movement whatsoever and the programming feature disengages for safety. So if you get a new address or destination on the fly you have to pull over, STOP completely to program. Also, obviously, you have to be IN the truck. My wife has the garmin and she broings it in the house to program for the next day while watching tv.. MUCH BETTER!! Also it works while moving!! Love mine, but it does get aggrevating if you use it alot..

Ah yes, the pervasive "gotta be safe ALWAYS" mentality that's permeating gov't and corporate America. *sigh* Anyway, Garmin rocks

And as you may have noticed , SHE has the factory NAV also. But it would take her sittin in the driveway for bout 30 minutes to program.. anyway.. looks nice.. but kinda ends there

Agreed, the factory nav is terrible, I've always used Tomtom's in my autos, i'm on my 3rd TomTom, I do have the nav on my titan but I DO NOT use it ever; I tried once and it couldn't find a shopping mall or my home address and that was the end for me so I installed a 910 mount in my dash and haven't looked back since .... pictures are in my photo gallery... enjoy !!!

That is funny since I have used it all across the USA and never had a problem with it. Must be operator error as it is probably the easiest navigation system I have seen. Of course if you live in areas that it clearly states it does not cover than you wasted your money buying it.
I used it to traverse the northern Nevada desert. No roads, just sand and hills for 300 miles It didn't show me anything other than distant roads but it did it perfectly. I expanded it out to 40 miles and was able to determine exactly where I was at all times.
I have used it to travel from Chicago to Tampa and back with numerous stops in between as well as Chicago to Reno and back again. Always found whatever I was looking for (including shopping malls).

No joke, the thing is a breeze too operate. We travel all over and when we get too city's and want too find a certain place, just program the address in and go. Wouldn't buy again without it.

"Must be operator error"
Come on I've used GPS's devices for the last 5 plus years and this is by far one of the worst factory nav's I've seen except for the 07 Jeep (I'm not bashing the titan at all) BUT the factory nav IMO is terrible and anybody who has used a better nav than this (anything else IMO) would agree that the factory nav is terrible and FYI I'm using the CD within my zone "that it's supposed to cover" (but does not)... Quick example... trying to navigate to Pineville-Matthews Road, NC (factory nav gives me the closest road in Florida) dose not know Matthews road, Charlotte, NC at all, even though the CD has NC state on it, the road has been there for more that 10 years even if the CD had the oldest data loaded on it, it should sill know....
Hence the TomTom 910 installed in the truck
Enough said... If you like it great for you, but nothing at this point will make me use the nav, all I use the screen for it the radio station and CD view, Fuel millage, and warnings about tire rotation and oil change.....

I have a system but the DVD is mysteriously missing. I can get one on EBAY but unsure of the correct version. Anyone know a website where I can match my system to the correct DVD?? Looks to me I'm looking at the nissan/infiniti data disc version 7.1. Help if you can, thanks.

I'll sell you mine seeing as it's as usefull as an ashtray on a motorbike
BUT you would be better off buying a TomTom or similar IMO.
Just let me know if you want it, and how much it's worth to you.

That's the nav screen. The navigation unit is under the passenger seat (does not play DVD movies) The DVD player for movies if equipped is inside the center console. From the factory the nav screen does not play movies but there are after market AV Switch that will allow it to do so.
