New Guy Speaks Up

Hi Guys!

Thought I would finally jump in and tell you all a little of my own Nissan
experience and how much I have enjoyed reading your posts and the
wealth of information to be found here.

My first Nissan was a 95 XE 2wd. It was a liitle small inside, but other
than that the only problem I ever had with it was a noisy throw out
bearing upon startup on very cold mornings. My next truck was a 97
KC 4wd that worked flawlessly until I traded it for a Honda Prelude.
The only complaint against it was the lack of power, since Nissan
didn't have a V6 in 97. I later traded the Honda for an 01 Frontier
KC 4wd with the V6. Again, no problems with this truck except it
was a little of a pain to get my kids out of the back when I picked
them up from school. I solved that problem by trading the Frontier
for an 03 Altima. It is a very nice car, and its 4 cyl is very peppy.
We loaded it with all our luggage and drove it to Myrtle Beach this
summer and the car proved to be excellent.
My wife had an 03 Ford Taurus SES V6, and absolutely hated it.
She wanted an Altima like mine, so I said, We don't need two Altimas,
so I let her have the Altima, and I traded her car for Titan KC SE 4WD
with the bench seat. I let her pick out the Sedona color.

I have about 1,000 miles on the Titan now since purchase in January,
and the only problems so far have been a missing door handle in the
back, a loose radio antenna, and the mudflaps in the front are working
loose.

The sheer size of the truck is the hardest thing to get used to. I backed
out of a driveway into a mailbox the first night I had it, and broke the
drivers side taillight and put a couple small creases in the bed back there.
After I got home, I was showing my neighbor the engine, and sunk a
dent in the hood with the palm of my hand when I shut it.
The new taillight was 75 bucks and I found a guy that does paintless
dent repair to get the dent out of the hood and the creases out of the
bed for a $100. He had not done a Titan yet, but I figured I was in good
hands as he was driving a 2000 Frontier CC. The job turned out well.

Haven't taken any pictures yet, but I'll get around to it. The Sedona
color looks bronze sometimes, brown sometimes, and when I looked out
the window today it looked red. Guess it depends on the light.
Love the power and the way the rear doors work.

I look forward to reading everything you guys have to say.

Welcome to the board Steve

The power of the Titan definately held my interest and the fact it was a Nissan even more so.

Sorry to hear about your first night with the truck, but it sounds like you got it all taken care of

Feel free to jump in anytime and welcome again!

Chris

Welcome to the forum! This is my first experience with having a forum tied in with a new vehicle purchase and have found the forum to be a real enhancement to the whole Titan experience!

Where was your antenna loose? At the back of the radio or at the antenna itself?

It was the actual antenna where it screws into the fender. I noticed it
when the dent guy was working on the hood. I screwed it back down
as hard as I could with my fingers.

The owner's manual says that the antenna must be tightened with a small wrench (there are flats on the antenna for that purpose) and that simply spinning it on with your fingers is not sufficient. Wonder if that is why some are complaining about radio reception.
