rrumaner, if you see that ya'll will pass through South Alabama, it'd be cool to hook up-would enjoy treating ya'll to some of the great seafood along the coast!
Right now it looks like the route is going to be Chicago --> Memphis --> Nashville (gotta stop there and do some touristy things) --> Atlanta --> Tampa.
If anyone is along the route and wants to hook up, lets talk about it over the next few weeks.

Anyone on this board close to Canton where they can recommend on which hotel to stay in if we do a rally? Any employees of Nissan that have some connections with Corporate to see if they can arrange a "five star tour" of the Titan plant? Anybody's dealership think they can get some donations for a Titan Rally (bed extender's, T-shirts, Floor Mats, etc...)
Since I'm a police officer, I could check with the Canton Police Department or Sheriff's Office to see if we could a couple of aerial photo's of all our Titans parked together.
I'm EXTREMELY pumped about this rally and everyone I've told about it thinks it is such a cool idea-they get that look like 'man, I wish MY truck/car was fun-inspiring enough to warrant a rally...his Titan is really a cool LIFESTYLE!' The Canton Rally has so much potiential...for Nissan PR and for us, as we get a chance to meet, and join together in celebration of our Titan experience...I've been on my hunting forum nine months and have met so many great members, who have become great friends despite the distance between us. I'm sure we will thoroughly enjoy the Canton Rally in a similar fashion. JAXPD, I really like all of your ideas-something like this will really have plenty of photo-ops! The Titan promises to become legend and I'm assuming this will be the first Rally of its kind for Titan. Take note in big red letters, Nissan!
I'll have to do some Canton research on the Net as soon as I check out today's new posts...WOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOO!!!

Nissan has redefined the full-size truck with BIG FUN added to the mix!!!
This reminds me very much of the Miata community. I have a first-year Miata (1990). I was involved with starting 2 clubs in southern Cal. I was just laughing because someone posted a question about the lug nut bolt pattern and someone had the answer in 4 minutes. I keep getting server busy errors. Don't we have jobs?
This is a truck!?!?!?! I am blown away. With the Miata it spawned a HUGE aftermarket society, there is a magazine that used to be all Miata now it is all Mazda. National and Regional get-togethers with hundreds of cars. I have been in a twisty-curve Miata mambo line that was over 200 cars. The fact that a truck can generate the same emotion is unbelievable. Nissan really nailed it! Could you imagine a line of Titans a mile long?
But then again.. After years of enthusiasm comes official clubs with officers and rules and zealots and then the fun starts to wane.. In the meantime all we can do is enjoy and wait for the aftermarket! Maybe some people in the L.A. area can put together a tour of Edelbrock and show them what a nice canvas the Titan would be for them??
When I was with the Dodge Durango Club we had a rally each year at the Durango factory. The first year people drove across country to Delaware with a plaque that was signed by members in each area it passed through. I was not able to make any of the rallys but I know they had the local police escort the entire group in a parade through town, they made the local papers and got ton of gifts as well as got to meet all the factory workers and people that helped make the vehicle.
It would be real nice if Nissan would be willing to do the same thing. A once a year rally to the birthplace of our baby would be a lot of fun. The free publicity alone should make Nissan take notice.

ARG - I'm gonna have to buy a Titan quick if you guys are starting to talk about rallys. I have a buddy who started the MINI Cooper club in Denver, and drove VW's before that. Both of those communities are full of rabid car enthusiasts - the good folks on www.northamericanmotoring.com and www.vwvortex.com could provide a lot of info on how to put together a successful rally...

Coolhand, I hope you find yourself driving your Titan away from the dealer very soon...it's really that good and I'm very glad I did!

Canton is right outside of Jackson, MS. I lived in Jackson for one year 5 or 6 years ago, and I do not remember there being much in Canton. Like I said, Jackson is about 20 to 30 minutes south on I-55, that is your best bet for a hotel. (Of course, building a huge Nissan plant could have changed everything!)
Thanks,
Brandon
P.S. I'm in Meridian, MS, about 2 hours away from Canton, but I'm currently Titanless, so I would only be overwhelmed with envy if I attended the rally.

You guys have fun.
I just checked the Canton Chamber of Commerce site, and yeah, progress never sleeps...apparently Canton has the usual mix of nice and upscale 'name brand' motels that fill the rest of the country...the town square looks cool and they even have a big hot air balloon race there each 4th of July...here's the link that lists lodging in the 'Visit Canton' dropdown in the top toolbar... http://www.cantontourism.com/
Brandon, since you obviously have an interest in Titan, heck, come join the crew anyway...

Yo Briarman.... I've been drooling on the Titan since I first heard about it last year.... drove the dealers demo truck when they got it in in late November. But the wife is making me pay off the boat first Good thing there's only a payment or two left. I figured that since she let me buy the boat during a rather "unsettled" financial time for us, I'd give her the courtesy of paying it off before throwing down another huge wad of $$,$$$.
I just wanted to bring the subject of the Titan Rally back up for further consideration...we have a lot of new members that might be interested in a meet in Canton...
