Sean, I really appreciate you taking the initiative in getting the ball rolling and making some contacts! I'm sure a lot of others who have expressed interest in the proposed Canton Rally appreciate it also...please keep us updated on the replies you get, and thanks in advance for your efforts! I think it would be a great experience for so many of us Titan owners...August 13-15 would work for me! I'll be glad to be the Alabama rep. and get the word out!

Update

I heard back from the Canton Tourism Office today. They have expressed interest in helping/hosting the event. Some questions they have are 1) are we flexible on our dates or are we solid on 13-15 August? and 2) could we provide them with a description of some of the events/activities that we would want to schedule for that weekend.
I told them that we are flexible on the dates. I originally suggested August 13-15 because it is in the summer but still allows plenty of time for planning. So far I have heard from two people about the date. Does anyone have any other suggestions for another date/
As far as events/activities I said for sure we would like to have a tour of the factory. Other things might include a four-wheeling trail ride, a BBQ, a show of trucks, a aftermarket/accessory demo and show. Any other suggestions?

I would still like to hear from everyone that for sure is interested. If anyone that is could please email me with your name, state, and email addy that would awesome.

Its about 120 miles from West Point to Canton, if you take the route that brings you down 30 miles or so on the Natches Trace (beautiful drive). Come on down and see us!

Spring/early Summer are the best time for crawfish boils in MS. Something else folks might be interested in is fishing on Ross Barnett reservoir (about 15 minute drive from the Nissan plant). Come on down and see us! Hopefully, I'll have my Titan by then! By the way, you might look around on the web for the Nissan X-Terra clubs. They gather every year in Smyrna, TN at that Nissan plant. They usually have everything from stock to extremely modified rigs...

Wonder if Nissan has thought of getting Brett (Farve) ok # 4 to be the Nissan Titan Rep? I like his blue-collar work ethic and being from Mississippi he would be great for the Nissan plant image.

I'm interested in going if it doesn't conflict with my roadracing schedule. Add another Houstonian to the list. The mid-Aug weekend is OK with me.

Ok, that may be a good idea but I just have 2 little problems.

1. 965 miles = $200 in gas each way. (if we get close to the expected $3pg)
2. Canton in August? Just a reminder it is 1 hour north of New Orleans (norlins) in August. Ok, I do not think that there is enough A/C on the planet to get me to be in the gulf region during the middle of August.

Love to be there guys, but that just reminds me of a saying by Robin Williams... It's so hot I saw a man in orange robes burst into flames...

Good Point....August will me be warm..Hot I mean...Later might be a better choice but I can handle the heat if August is it I will be there. I am sure my Titan will be up for alittle off-road fun and the blistering heat will just make him sing louder

Since I'm a police officer, I could check with the Canton Police Department or Sheriff's Office to see if we could a couple of aerial photo's of all our Titans parked together.

Any other ideas? Throw em out here.
There have been some other postings mentioning staying in Jackson, MS, about 20 miles south of Canton. Depending on your taste, that might be the best thing-just use caution when booking a Jackson hotel. There are some rough areas that would best be avoided.

There are several hotels just off I-55 in Canton that would be suitable for most. Canton has a few places that would be well suited for a rally, if Nissan doesn't want it directly on their front yard. There is multipurpose complex within a two or three miles of the Nissan plant and even closer to the hotels.

I will start gathering and sharing info as I get time... consumers like yourselves are keeping us running... keep it up!

I forgot to mention in my previous post... You have gotten in touch with the right people to help you get things rolling. Once they realize you are serious about having a rally, they will go out of their way to help. They love Canton and want to see new things come and bring the commerce and positive atmosphere.
