Orlando Speedworld / Central Florida racers

Just wanted to let you all know, the scale at Orlando Speedworld is screwed. It may be an NHRA certified track, but the scale doesn't seem right. I weighed in at 4740 in my XE Crew Cab, I believed it (because they are certified) even though some other members questioned it. It appears it is reading about 250-300 LBS short of what our actual weight is. I went to the scrap yard yesterday and my truck weighed 5100 LBS with my spare tire on, sub BOX in, and a few lbs of copper in the back and less than 1/4 tank of gas. I'm guessing I'm just over 5000-5020 at the track, so that means all of you guys who weighed at the track, can add about 275lbs to what you thought you weighed.

Re: Orlando Speedworld / Central Florida racers

Yeah by about 40LBS. Which is really odd since oyu have a KC and I have a CC, but I guess it's because I have the XE. I added my spare back on now...Hey Paul, are you going to get some DR's for this Winter? I have those 2 steel 17's (that I still owe you $20 for), but I have been doing some researching on what other rims (since those steel rims are so heavy) and DR's to use. I think I found a good set-up (rim and tire) that should be lighter then using the steel wheels for the DR's. They are 16's. I can either get the 16's Toomny used from Jegs (about $100 a piece, but are pretty cool) and some DR's that I have been recommended. Then I'll use the steel 17's with very low-pro's for the front. But that is, if your still planning on racing this Winter, I'm going all or nothing this Winter, then maybe stop

Re: Orlando Speedworld / Central Florida racers

If I get DR's this Winter. I'm going to do a few runs on a nice cool night withOUT spare, tools, tailgate, rear-seats, center console, and passenger seat. See what I can do on some DR's like that LOL with a short belt and possibly TB and MAnifold

Re: Orlando Speedworld / Central Florida racers

Nah not going to break my tanny I hope LOL, if KHA can run loooow 13's on the stock tranny, I should be able to do the same. It's only going to be occasionally on the DR's...I still want someone to talk me out of buying them, but I don't think anyone is lol. I want my drop and TB/Mani first LOL

Re: Orlando Speedworld / Central Florida racers

I'm onlylowering 1" in front and about 3" in rear. It should be ok as long as I do the rught set of shocks. The DR's are almost 200 a piece, plus some more rims. I really want the TB/Mani and and to lower it, but I want to race this Winter and these 20's will kill me
