A/C Fan stuck on high?

My A/C is acting up. It currently only has two settings, off or full blast. The second I turn the fan control knob on it blows full bast. I took it by the dealership and they did not have time to look at it yesterday but the customer service rep. thought they would need to replace the A/C control unit, a $300 part.

Anyone had this problem before? If so what was your solution? I'm hoping to avoid the $300 part if at all possible since I am out of warranty.

ive never had this on my titan but on my honda it was the fan resistor. what it does is regulate the voltage to the fan per commands from the knob. if this goes out, you get a dead short, which means no regulation and full voltage all the time. mine was mounted to the bottom of the AC box in the Pass side floorboard. was a $25 part and i changed it myself in the parking lot. worth a try!

No remedy but till you get it fixed if you put the selector switch to feet only the amount of air circulating is reduced greatly. Not much help just temporary releif. You will be surprised how much it reduces the flow!
