Timbren install question/ nut replacment required?

My Timbrens should arrive tomorrow. Looking at the service manual for the Axle/Spring U-Bolt. The Manual calls for replacing the axle U-Bolt nuts when removed. My questions: is why? is this a locking nut? is this really necessary.

Thanks !!!!

oh well... I re-used the nuts and applied Red Loctite. I plan to mark the nuts with a white paint line just to keep an eye on them and verfiy that they don't loosen up for some odd reason.

Install is very easy. Can't wait to see the difference towing

.

You should do a write up on the install. I have been thinking of adding these myself. Were putting them on my mothers Titan, she tows a 5th wheel. When talking to Timbren themselves, if your truck still sags, they will send you additional spacers for free.

Do you essentially just loosen the nuts, slide the old bump stop out and slide the Timbrens in and re tighten?

FWIW, I was going to put them on the front when there was a possibility I was going to put a snow plow on my truck.

That's it. They take the place of the bumpstops. Very easy to install...http://www.truckspring.com/timbren-i...guide_821.html

yes, it is that simple! Just tighten the U-Bolts down so @ equal threads are shown for each of the U-Botls at 37 ft-lbs. That is from the Service manual for the Titan.
