for a few weeks i was getting 8~9 mpg in the city, but now i get 10~11 (after engine break in) in the city and about 14~15 mpg on the highway, rusing aroun 75~80 mph, 2200 rpm. the final drive ratio (from Big Tow or Off-Road pkgs) "costs" about 3 mpg from the EPA MPG rating of 14~18
for brake in i stayed under 4000 rpm and tried to vary the rpm.
after 3000 milesi saw that when cruising 100 mph it revv'd at 3000 rpm.
i do, rarely - however, drive 4wd at 70 mph when the highway's wet and when that is the flow of traffic.

Keep in mind that this is the guy that does 70 mph + in 4WD.
8-9 mpg? 70+ in 4wd? you are truly the king of lead foots. im scared to ask but, did you break the truck in easily?

I've got about 3200 miles on my Titan SE Kingcab (no tow package & no offroad pkg.) and I've put most of these miles on with city and highway driving about equally, day in and day out. The combination mileage has increased from 15 mpg to 16.4, but I'm not sure if the truck efficiency has improved with break-in or if I have improved my driving habits. When I first got the truck, I couldn't help but "CHECK IT OUT" - there's nothing like POWER, NOTHING! I guess it's true that you can't have everything. If you want the efficiency of an economy car, then a 4-cylinder is the answer. However, if you're looking for one awesome, badass truck, and I do mean real truck, then the TITAN is the answer. At least it is for me anyways.
Alternatively, look at it this way. Bottled water costs you upwards to $5.00/ gallon, if you buy it in those little bottles at the local middle-Eastern convenience store. What's interesting is, this so-called "healthy water" is bottled and sold to us without very many retrictions. The only restrictions that are in place in most locales is that this bottled water is at least as PURE as the water from your local municipalities. So, I'm just going to turn on my on faucet, fill my own bottles and save $2 or $3/day on H2O and put that money in my Titan. I'll still be just as healthy, but a helluva lot happier!
A close friend of mine, contract hauls water from a well out of Huntsville, Texas to the Oz_rka bottling plant in Houston. This is a true fact. And what about that Evian water stuff that you see all the upscale (or is it uptight) people paying high-dollar for? We surely don't/can't believe that they fly this stuff in from la-tee-da France. Besides, who would want anything that comes out of France anyways?!
Enjoy your AWESOME TITAN and keep your foot out of it, or NOT! People have really started asking me what I'm smiling about. WE KNOW!

16.4 combined mileage is probably higher then the posted EPA numbers! Aren't those posted as 14/18? I think that shows the truck is very capable of getting it's claimed mileage!

I would check your air pressure in the front tires. The Armada posted either has low front tire pressure or the front end was distorted by the camera lens. I am not sure which it is. BTW my mpg has been low too, about 11.5-13.5 mostly stop and go on state routes ( stop and go at highway speeds!).

PA Titan, i think you're referring to my picture. The air pressure in the the front tires are fine.......i did a little photo editing to the shot i exaggerating the size of front end of the vehicle, because thats the way I imagine it looks to people when they see me coming up on them in their rear view mirror. The "low pressure" in the tires is jut a side effect of my photo editing. Thanks for the looking out for me though, i appreciate it
I've only 500 miles on my new Titan, but checked milage is 14.8 for now. I drive 63 miles one way to work from Cabot to the Pine Bluff Arsenal in AR. I work 24 on 24 off, but I would have bought the Titan even if I had to drive everyday. My 94 Nissan XE reg cab, with 241000 miles, still gets 21mpg (RELIABILITY). I always said if Nissan ever came out with a full size PU I'd buy one, and I'm lovin every minute I'm behind the wheel.

I think he also has a seriously bent front wheel too...hehehe.
I am not gonna worry about MPG anytime right away. My Frontier that I am trading in Saturday (20th) gets the same milage as talked about here. It is/was a 2002 Frontier CC SE 4x4 with a stainless steel dual exhaust, brush guard, tool box full of tools, heavier aftermarket rims and tires, etc..... It was no turtle but you had to push it to "get it" sometimes. Was a great smooth highway cruiser and had tons of torque off the line, but was not really quick. Always seemed to be resisting getting in that smooth flowing final gear feeling.
I started using premium fuel to get more kick and it did work regardless of the common sense train of thought about not needing it. But that was more expensive obviously. If I get the same milage, with regular gas, in a truck like the Titan, I will consider it gravy. I was getting around 14 to 15 in mixed driving with the Fronty. If I can get that with my new Titan I will not feel bad.
If things get too bad to deal with concerning gas prices, I will buy a second hand gas miser jalopy

Good point. And maybe you will be even healthier (Perrier had benzene and Coke's Dasanti had bromate)

Tap water also has fluoride so your teeth will be healthier too!

Tap water can be used as the alternative to bottled water... but what can you use as the alternative to gas? You NEED gas, but you don't NEED bottled water.

Nissan recommends a maximum speed of 62.5 mph when in 4-HI. Unless your tires are bald and slippery, driving in the rain at 70 mph in 4WD will put a lot of strain on the drivetrain, unless you are driving in a perfectly straight line.
