Air Conditioning Question

I Love This Truck....i Get A Lot Of Stares From Ford And Dodge Drivers...since I Live In Sunny Fla. Ive Had The Air Conditioning On. I Just Happened To Be Driving Without The Radio On Today And Noticed A Slight Hiss Every15 Or 20 Seconds Coming From The Air Conditioning. The Air Is Blowing Cold So Im Not Concerned But Just Wanted To Know If Anyone Else Is Hearing This.

I hear this all the time. I posted something about it a week ago. Everyone who had run their a/c seemed to hear the same noise, so I was not too concerned.

Hello giddyup:

I don't hear a hiss in my cab, how loud is it? Maybe you have a vacuum hose loose that activates the duct valves that directs air from say the floor to the front vents???? I'm guessing. I don't know if pneumatic actuators are used in the Titan. Maybe someone else can say?

My does same thing , just noticed that myself last night and wondered if any one else had heard it . Must be norm.

I finally got my new Titan yesterday and I listened for this air conditioning noise. I'm pretty sure it only happened when I had the AC set to recirculate, not in the normal AC setting.

yep, same noise. Joked with wife it was the beast under the hood breathing. If it gets worse however, it will no longer sound like a beast, but just some old guy with emphysema.

I think it does this as the air conditioner cycles on and off. Maybe it is just the system pressurizing when the a/c cycles on/off.

The sound you all are hearing is from the (AC PURG Valve.) They are working on a fix for this! Although they all make this sound, it's not normal! It souldn't be to long before they come up with one! Thought I would let everybody know!

That sound has been driving me nuts. I was going to make an appointment Tuesday with service to get it checked out. I guess I'll wait till I hear about a fix.
