I jumped a Nissan XTerra and my 04 Titan has a red terminal on the negative (-) and a black cover on the positive (+). Anyway I think I hooked myself up backwards once and may have blown up my computer.
First thing that happend is the battery died I jumped it (with the truck off) and it ran for a while and just died. I replaced the battery with a new one and the truck starts fine but I am getting a flashing light on my airbag and none of the controls are working on my steering wheel.
Did I blow my computer?
How do I check?
What would a replacment computer cost?
Any help would be appreciated.

I just tried the cycling proceedure to enter diagnostics mode and it didn't fix it - but I am thinking if all the controls arn't working then a fuse or two may be the issue - any help with the fuse box - where do I start? How do I check it?

Thanks Yoda - very helpful! Who is the clown who thought of making the + cover black and the - terminal red - hmmm? Maybe they sell computer replacment for Titans!
I just pulled each of the fuses and looked at them one by one and none look fried - I wish one did.
Please don't make me go to the dealer - any thoughts?

Follow the positive terminal right off the battery. You will see several fuses connected to the terminal, they are plastic with clear lenses. You probably blew a couple of those fuses out. If they did blow just pick a new one up at Nissan, I believe they are about $25-$30. Also you won't be able to buy just the fuses, you have to buy the whole terminal with the fuses.
I think the fuses on the octopus looking thing connected to the + terminal are high amp and if you blow those you will have other problems besides air bag and steering wheel controls. Did you try the other accessories (lights, heater, A/C, wipers)? Is air bag and steering wheel controls the only issue?

Only things that are not working are on the steering wheel including the horn. The Raido works but the remote controls for the radio don't, the cruise control dosen't work either, and then theres the airbag light.

True but worth a check. I had similar problems with my wife's Xterra which uses the same + terminal.

I think those things at the battery are called "Fusible Links" and available at any good auto parts store. Standard stuff, not dealer required. I may be totally wrong...

I am having a really frighting new symptom - I dive along and the truck just starts "shuddering", it's happened 3 times in as many trips!
Any ideas?

The infamous IPDM may be burnt, and causing that. Cost online is about $100. Check all those links and stuff again. I'd try an IPDM very quickly. Not easy to prove, except by replacing. It holds lots of Relays and Fuses, affecting everything it seems. The new design is in the market now. P/N 284B6-ZC00A List is $168.50. Shop around, try our site sponsors if possible.
