Question Worried about Bedliner

It got rather warm yesterday and I noticed some half-dollar size bubbles in my bedliner? I had seen some smaller ones on the side of bed say 1/4 inch but these were half-dollar. I pushed them down and sometimes they would stick but I know this can't be a good sign. I've never had sprayed in liner so I'm not sure what to expect. I just know if it bubbles at 70 degrees what's gonna happen at 100?

I hate to say it, but it may be a harbinger of things to come. We all have been complaining about the radio, but it has been too cold for the bed issue to come up. They may have to re-spray them. I had a bolt on mine peel its coating, they resprayed it. We shall see...

Report it to Nissan and the dealer. Mine is starting to peel. They put it on too thin and will have to make it right. I had spray on liner before and it shouldn't do that. It is important to make them do it right before you get openings in the liner and water gets under the liner and it starts to rust.

I am still waiting to hear back on how they are going to fix mine. They are still working on it but I am sure they are not positive how to handle it yet. Mine has a 2x2 foot section in the middle of the bed floor that "came undone" from the metal underneath.

WOW down here in MIami looks like my bed liner will just drip right off if I am not careful 80 + pretty much all year round with a couple of months 90+ and only 2 weeks of 70<.

Nissan is going to hate life...... As long as they own up to it and fix it , im ok with it.

I was just at the dealer earlier today and checked out their inventory on the lot. I took a look at the bed utility pkg on a truck that was in the sun and has been probably for about 1 month. But I didn't see any bubbles or blemishes on the spray in liner. Maybe its just a truck specific problem instead of a production problem.

But my money is on production and that nissan will have to just do a customer service dance and get us the fix for it.

Sounds like they have two problems: (1) too thin and (2) poor prep work

Could we just put in a drop in liner over it?

I would say it's not to thin, it might just be a "we've never done this before" problem. From what I've heard Nissan and PPG are hard at work coming up with a repair procedure for this. Please be paitent with Nissan and your dealer and I'm sure it will get fixed. As I understand it Ford and GM are talking to PPG about this same stuff on their trucks.

"From what I've heard Nissan and PPG are hard at work coming up with a repair procedure for this."

Probably a gift certificate for a can of Herculiner and a roller.

Anybody see some trends??

After being on this board for a while I'm starting to notice some trends...

There are very few reported problems or complaints concerning:
1. Brakes
2 Engine
3. Transmission
4. Tires and wheels
5. Body and paint
6. Towing
7. Off road package

A majority of the reported problems seem to be with options and upgrades.
1. Power seats moving (SE upgrade and LE)
2. Radio reception and power (SE upgrade and LE)
3. Bed liner (SE upgrade and LE)
4. Missing coin trays

I'm just glad I got the SE. I had my liner sprayed in later and don't anticipate any problems. It's a lot thicker than the factory job- could be trying to save some money by using less product and rushing through prep. I ordered the preferred package so of course I'm having the same reported problems with the seat moving and the FM issue. Both were options on my truck. And I had to order the coin tray.

Other than options- and the LE- has any one had any problems?
I wonder how many people with the XE are having any issues? Or the SE without the popular package.

Question

My bedliner has also bubbled up in the middle after the first warm day we had above 70. I'll be taking this up with the dealer when the truck goes in to have the RF radio replaced. Speaking of the radio, I have not experienced the fading problem others have had. Mine simply spits out all the CDs when you first start the truck or if you attempt to load more than one CD. Otherwise it sounds great and I wish it was just a matter of a reset or something as I hate the thought of them taking the dash apart.

What's the deal with the moving seat? I know it slides back when you exit the truck and forward when you enter the driver's seat. Is there some other issue I've missed?

And there's supposed to be a coin tray? Where?! I really have missed this!

Read the following link. This is one cause of the electric seat problem.
Wild acting powered seat problem identified!
