Seat Belt Chimes

I have an 08,SE,KC,BT,2wd FFV with most of the available options and I certainly enjoy the truck. I actually prefer the condition I am going to ask about but I don't know if it is normal. If the headlights are left on or the key is left in the ignition the chime sounds to inform you so I know the chime is operational. When my seatbelt light comes on in the dash display it goes off when I buckle up and I like it like that. My manual says that the chime will sound and the light remain on until you fasten the seatbelt but my chime does not sound for this (the light does remain on). I might have missed it in the manual but is there some way to silence the seat belt chime that I might have overlooked? We can silence the horn beep feature when we lock the doors with the keyfob so perhaps the seat belt chime can be silenced as well?

So yours does not have a seatbelt chime either? I am almost certain my manual says there is one but if yours has none perhaps the 08 has none either. I agree with you I prefer not hearing that annoying chime because I always use my seatbelt but my driveway is about 1/4 mile long and it often takes me till near the end to get buckled up and I really appreciate not having to listen to the chime.

Re: Seat Belt Chimes

If I were you be glad you don't have a chime...My best friend's jeep went haywire, and even with the seatbelts buckled...it dinged the entire trip home....for 3 hours.

Well I am very happy that it does not chime. I was only curious what other members trucks did because I read my owners manual several times and it said the light will come on and the chime until you buckle up. I find the chime annoying and I am glad it does not work but it appears that others also have no chime.
