ebay leather kit...

Hey guys,
so I've been pretty rough on my interior w/ work and my scuba buddies who don't like to dry off before getting in

and it shows! Not only that but I hate when I jump in to my truck and all you see is a cloud of dust/allergens, not to mention I'm going to be lugging around a little girl in a couple of month

So I got a couple quotes and they range from 1000-1600 for it installed and I had figured how hard could it be?? So this is the kit I ordered off ebay 2005- 2009 Titan Crew 40/20/40 Leather Interior - Black:eBay Motors (item 130309261100 end time Oct-24-09 19:38:41 PDT) and I'm going to have a shot at it by this weekend. The kit should be in tomorrow! I'll let you guys know how it looks

sorry about that!! It's been a long month

the kit came in, in just 4 days after winning the bid and the communication between the seller was near;y instantaneous, not to mention he had the cheapest prices

materials...
the leather used is actually really nice but like the factory leather and most other leather manufacturers there is a lot of use of vinyl. In the rear seats only the middle of where your back and butt are toucking are leather and all other panels a re a high quality vinyl. In the front seating the entire faces are leather.

Fit...
The rear seats were a perfect fit b/c of the prodigious use of vinyl and the front seats were a bit loose b/c of the use of leather, but it shrank after a couple of days in the heat to a factory fit! All seams perfectly lined up and no one will notice that it looks aftermarket.

Install...
After removing the seats the install was done with just 2 tools(hog ring pliers and snips) I installed mine over a week. I would remove a seat and just work on it in the garage and then replace. I estimate about 2 hours per seat max. Remember I have never done any type of upholstering

The hardest part by far is the headrest since they are so tight and the next hardest would be closing the damned end clips for the rear seats. It just takes some bruised hands but you will do it.

hey bro did you take out the middle front seat? if so, how did you do it and where did you get the center console? looks damn good by the way

thanks! the middle seat is easily removed by 4 14mm bolts. 2 in the fron and 2 in the rear, but the best news is that that every xe has that console underneath it already!! only problem would be that the airbag sensor is located in the middle seat. Also remove that seat with hand tools and no impact tools for obvious reasons

Looks great! I've been trying to decide between one of these kits or Wet Okole. I was pretty set on the Wet Okole covers, but your pics have made me think twice...

In the fifth picture it almost looks like the headrest is loose/wrinkled, I know you said that it was very tight and hard to get on, and that they shrank in the heat are you able to provide pictures after the heat shrank it up? Also do you think it would be possible to put the headrest covers on over the upholstered one for a more formed finish?

Most upholstery shops will add foam where it's loose so i think keeping the cloth on would help...

I'll take more pics later but it seems the only loose part was the front headrest but it's also amplified b/c of the crease from shipping.

I woud do this over the okole in a heart beat!! I had those on my tacoma and they just attracted more stains

Did those wrinkles from shipping eventually smooth out? Thinking about doing it but I really want it to look like factory.
