Just got my center console piece done. Mine was all scratched up and the paint worn off.
What do you guys think? I was going to go with real carbon fiber, but that would have ran me almost a truck payment. I got this done for less than a tank of gas and i think it looks pretty kick ***.
Now i got to decide what to do on the Shifter plate piece. I was thinking painting it silver to contrast. Any suggestions?
I know not everyone loves the carbon fiber type look, but i like it alot better than looking at my console with scratches and turning black/white from the paint wear.

Thats's really nice. I've been following these threads and really like what you are doing. Is the glove box part a cutout or hindged? I think you may have a blooming business.

CF isn't that much is it for this application? It's not like you'd need Kevlar weave... I really don't know, we get all of it donated.
Very nice. Yeah, i'm curious as well what you did. Is it just a vinyl stick on covering or some sort of CF lookalike fabric. Wet layup or prepreg? Did you just cover the original console or make a mold and make a new console piece out of the material?

Sorry for the late reply, i got busy and haven't had a chance to reply.
The stuff is that carbon fiber look fabric wrap. The product used on my console is NeffyWrap. I actually sent my piece to them, because i was scared that i would screw it up. Unfortunately, they told me they no longer wrap items themselves, but told me any upholstery shop could do it. Their stuff runs about $35 a yard, which i think is more than enough to wrap a couple items in our trucks. I initially sent them my console because i wanted to see how their stuff would look. Now im going to order some more and do the work myself, because all you need to do is spray an adhesive and carefully lay the fabric on top.
I love how it came out, because it has a little texture and when the sun hits it, it gives that 3D appearance.
I think its a great option for those not wanting to spend too much. The stuff is spillproof and waterproof they say.

Yeah, i based they price i mentioned on a quote i received. I think it was around ~200 now that i look back at the quote so i might have exagerated the truck payment comparason. It would have been nice to go this route, but i didnt want to spend $200 on just 1 piece for my interior, although no doubt its good work and worth it.
