For the moulding..I answered someone on this once as far as the install of it. The moulding itself is like $180+ dollars from Nissan. I forget which site I pointed him to for some 'alternatives'...do a search on moulding.

Fog light fix for XE

Nissan said were "available for all Titans". Or so I thought.....
I have now been told by Nissan corporate and my dealer that this can't happen. They told me that the 4x2 XE is the only model that has a different wiring harness that is not already set up for fogs.

If you are planning on purchasing a Titan, please be careful who you believe when it comes to add ons.

I was assured at the time of my purchase that this was no problem. Now Nissan corporate is saying that they made a mistake, That it was a misprint that they sent out to all of their dealers around the country which said you could do this.
The response Corporate and my Stealer have given to me is "tough luck, you screwed up you trusted us.... in so many words...

Now, I'm stuck, they have refused to help me, but I still want to add fogs, but have been led to believe by the guys in service that I can't wire them into the parking lights or the regular headlights because all the other lights go through the computer and this will screw it up.

If there is anybody out there who can offer any realistic suggestions on how to install fogs as daytime running lights, or with a seperate switch without causing any problems? I'm seriously frustrated right now. Please help.
NO WORRIES DUDE!!! I have the same model with the same problem, only I bought the NIssan light kit from parts dept. and found out the hard way.
USE THE FACTORY FOG LIGHT KIT!!!
Just go down to radio shack and get 12-GA lamp wire, clear insulator is best, and also get some 1/4 or 3/8 Split Loom (plastic ribbed tubing that is split on one side). Wire them in parallel directly to the battery positive using a ring terminal, hide the wires with the split loom (totally looks factory) and break the ground wire in the cab with a small toggle switch also from radio shack. I bought a BLACK plastic switch, and popped out one of those blank covers on the left side of the steering wheel that is used if you have the "PEDAL ADJUSTMENT" option or the "BACK UP SENSOR OFF" switch. if you have KC XE these will be blank and empty. Pop one out and drill a small hole big enough for the switch of your choice and put the blank cover back in. Now the switch is installed in the plug that you weren't using on XE any ways, and you didnt have to make a hole in your dash or stick on some funky looking buttons. Looks factory too.
HERES THE GREAT PART!! Titans with the fogs from factory can ONLY use them with the headlamps on. You can use them ANYTIME YOU WANT!!

The factory fogs fit the best, are already angled for the curve in the bumper to be perfectly aligned for angle and height, are adjustable for beam height, and you can replace the bulbs with standard XENON replacements for that "HID" look.
Install took about 2 hours, mostly because of getting the wire into the split loom and feeding the wire around under the grill to make it invisible. If you need help with any of the details, email me. I can also take some pics to clarify any confusion. The install is very simple and looks OEM, thats why I didn't go with aftermarket lights.

As to the side mouldings yes, I ordered them thru my dealer, the cost was about $63.00 per section, plus labor. They claimed they are giving me a deal at $400.00 for everything.
The side moulding comes to them with a primer coat on it, and the dealer will paint to match. So you can't really buy it from somebody online, unless you can get them to paint them for you, or you go to your dealer with somebody elses parts....good luck.....
I looked around at various options for moulding. The only aftermarket that looks nice is the stuff that has the bullet ends, but the widest they make it is 2 inches, the Nissan factory stuff is 3 1/4 inches. I could have had the aftermarket stuff done for about $100 but in the end I thought it would look slapped together, and like you I want the factory look.

Hope this helps.

I really wanted the SE CC, but I will just have to modify and aftermarket to get there. As regards XEs with bench and side airbag availability there is only 1 on any lot in the Southeast (White XE CC bedliner, bed extender). That XE is a a dealer in Warner-Robbins, GA. So I guess this is just not a hot combination. I bet someone could make an at or below invoice deal on that truck. Anyway. I just waiting for mine now.

Have you tried to locate or install the side molding (door guards) that come with the SE/LE but not the XE? I would like to install them if I can locate them and figure out what is involved.

Hey Man, Thanks for the informative explanation, its nice to know I'm not alone in this adventure. I will probably take you up on the details, and it seems like others would benefit as well.
I have one question for you now though.. What did you do for the Pigtails that connect to the back of the factory lights? Tried one large autoparts place, and no luck. If you can provide a manufacturer, and part number that would be great. Thanks

If you want to get these door moldings, I can sell the to you for $217.32 for a full UNPAINTED set for the CC. If you need them painted, then I can talk to my body shop for you and get a price!!

How about for the King Cab in white? DO they come with the adhesive tape already on them?

Thanks!

The KC moldings will be $193.78 for a set of 4, but I checked this morning and most of the moldings both CC and KC are backordered!! So it would be awhile to get them!!

Re: Fog light fix for XE

Thanks for explaining your install effort on the fog lights. I too have an XE KC, it's about three weeks old, you didn't use a relay?

How did you connect the lights to the wiring?

I think you have the wiring though. I'm almost certain that the only Titans that did not have all teh same prewiring were the 04 XE King Cabs only. I think for 05 and newer the fog wiring is there. I can't confirm this, but you can by looking for the plugs first.

Re: XE Foglight WARNING!

If you REALLY want a factory fog setup on your XE, here's how to do it. If you open your fuse box in the engine compartment, there is a BROWN plug, with I think, 3 wires going into. Hole #51,52 are empty, and those are the spots that power the fogs with FACTORY FOG LIGHT STALK. So go ahead and buy the factory fog light setup from Nissan and you will have to make some pins to put into the plug, run the wires in loom to the fog lights and you can buy the female end plug at autozone with some minor modifications (you'll see when you get the lights, take them with you to autozone) Now, you will have EXACTLY the same setup as an SE/LE. I'll see if I can get pictures tonight or tomorrow.

Re: XE Foglight WARNING!

How did I luck out? I have an 04 XE King Cab which didn't have fog lights when I got it. I bought the factory kit, installed the lights using the existing harness, installed the light stalk that came with the kit, and that's all I did. It took about 45 minutes and the fog lights work fine. Maybe some XE's are different?

Re: XE Foglight WARNING!

05 XE 2X4 CC here, and no prewiring under the bumber. If I ever put in fog lights though the install shouldn't be hard. With help from members here and the instructions in the box, shouldn't take more than a couple of hours to do it all by yourself.

Exclamation Re: Pigtails to factory fog lights...

TiDan,

I added the Nissan factory fogs to my '04 XE KC over a year ago. As far as the pigtails are concerned this is what I did:

The Fogs were given to me @ Christmas by my wife so I took one of them up to my local NAPA store. A woman who worked there was able to look at the pin placement and bulb number and special order the exact right pigtails to plug onto the back of them. It took a week or 2 for them to come in. Then it is just a matter of wiring them up. I threw away the boxes for the pigtails a long time ago or I would be happy to give you a brand name and part number.

Should be no problems.

Additionally - check this thread out - probably THE definitive thread on this particular subject: Fog lights for the XE's

Good luck, David.

Re: XE Foglight WARNING!

Are the factory foglights worth a damn? The ones I had on my xterra sucked so I'm a bit hesitant to add these to my truck....

I got the 06 CC XE 2WD-No harness situation. I've got the young lady parts manager calling corporate to see if a seperate harness is available. I read somewhere on Nissan publication "Some may require seperate harness" as if they now make a short add-on. If not, I'll try hard to get exact item from NAPA or similiar place and will post the info here and on new thread to make it easy. This is a recurring problem that never should be. The short harness should have been made known and widely available by now.

How do we contact Nissan parts corporate direct???

UPDATE REAL ANSWER HERE:

Autozone was unable to order the Motormite Part Number 85855 when I showed it to them. Googled and cross ref to AC/DELCO PT-120 or GMC Part # 12085498.

I went to local Chevy Dealer today, gave GMC #, parts in stock, list about $25/sale $18. Fits excellent, has clips to sides, not top, but is tight and high quality.

I switchd to bulb 885 for 50 Watt vs 38 Watt. Can't be much brighter knowing what energy spreaad is like.
