So go ahead and buy the factory fog light setup from Nissan and you will have to make some pins to put into the plug, run the wires in loom to the fog lights and you can buy the female end plug at autozone with some minor modifications (you'll see when you get the lights, take them with you to autozone) Now, you will have EXACTLY the same setup as an SE/LE. I'll see if I can get pictures tonight or tomorrow.

UPDATE REAL ANSWER HERE:

Autozone was unable to order the Motormite Part Number 85855 when I showed it to them. Googled and cross ref to AC/DELCO PT-120 or GMC Part # 12085498.

I went to local Chevy Dealer today, gave GMC #, parts in stock, list about $25/sale $18. Fits excellent, has clips to sides, not top, but is tight and high quality.

I switchd to bulb 885 for 50 Watt vs 38 Watt. Can't be much brighter knowing what energy spreaad is like.

Re: XE Foglight WARNING!

I got my Titan a few days ago, they said that they would put in the fog lights which they did.

I have a SE and it looks like the dealer did not have the Multi Function Switch ( Blinker) that just controled the Headlights and the Fog lights. He installed a switch that had the auto option on it.

Since I don't have that option on a SE I was wondering if I could buy the sensor that tells when it is getting dark? Could I just install the sensor on my dash and run it back to the control?

Or does it need some relays, which I am sure it does.

Thanks for the help...

I have been looking at this site for a few days and have gotten some great ideas!!

Thanks,

John

Sorry, no pics as I am holding off on my 5 electrical projects wiring for a few more weeks (designing it as 1 cohesive system for relays etc.) other priorities came up. Plug from GM fits perfect on the fog light bulbs, either OEM or upgraded bulb. Make your harness as listed earlier and start enjoying it, this thread has all the answers now.

Future projects: Driving Lights (Hella 500 tied into highbeams), OEM Fog Lights, 2 Rear bumper LED Work Lights, 4 Inside of Bed LED Work Lights. Silly Neon Blu Lights under body (2 Kits for ultimate illumination at meets)

This was not true in 2005. I have a LE CC 4x4 BT OR with leather bench. I wanted the buckets until I sat on the bench. The truck is just more roomy feeling with the bench IMHO.

You can easily wire the power wire directly to the screw terminal on the battery and use an in-line fuse holder.

Now you think you have lemons, but you can make lemonade, as you will have these advantages over the "ordinary" Titans with fog lights:

1. You can run them without the headlights on as daytime running lights.

2. You can run them with the brights on (factory fog lights turn off when you put the high beams on).

Cheer up!
Didnt know about point 2... Not to hijack this thread but why do the fogs go out when high beams are used????

If it is foggy, you need light low to the ground so it does not reflect back to your eyes. Most fog is just slightly above the ground, remember it is basically water suspended in air and needs to be in the clouds above to be out of our way. High beams will reflect tremendously, with little benifit, usually greatly reduced visibility because of it.

Re: XE Foglight WARNING!

I did mine today and this is how did it with Fog light kit from Nissan . I installed the new switch in steering collum. Then got from an auto parts store in I used Carquest just down the street. And got Inline fuse holder an 20 amp fuse to fit Two model # S-708. and wire. This is the plug for the lamps. I made up a two wire harness starting on drivers side Install the plud to the wires and ran across to the pasenger sidecut wire a little long, bring wire out through were the toe hooks would be. This will let you set up to make up the wire easly Snake wires from in front of battery down and over to that toe hook hole. hool in the plug and wire together. I then grounded on side to fram, or battery can be used. Take of the coversfor the relays and the on in back were the fusses are.Top row right side first fuse is fog light,. At 20 amps this fuse is only hot when lights are on.The top spade for fuse is hot or power side add a in line fuse. At 20 amps. Use forked lug cut off one side of the fork and install or push in to were the fuse was. You now have Fog light like it should be. Turn on lights and drive. AND NOW THE COST WIRE AND PLUGS COST under 70 dollars the plugs are about $24 each. The plugs can be crossed to Napa or Auto zone the fit most Gm vehicles. Total time to do mod less than 2 hours. the relay is all ready there. N6RRJ

Re: XE Foglight WARNING!

I find it funny that someone would be so upset over fog lights. If you like the truck so much it shouldn't be that big of a deal. Although in saying that my SE CC didn't have the OEM fogs and I put them in yesterday....

Re: XE Foglight WARNING!

TitanPete,

Not to hijack the thread, but did the new stalk have the same shape and design as the one you removed? Or was the stalk for the fog lamps shaped differently than the non-fog lamp shaped stalk.

Thanks.

Re: XE Foglight WARNING!

Still no pics. But, I installed my foglights, and someone elses the day before. We used the factory stalk, then I got female pins (free) from the dealers assortment box, that fit the pins in the IPDM (BussBox) and used one of the two Hot Pins that are there for factory fogs. I just ran it down to the fog and grabbed ground up near the passenger side hood hinge. I made a 2 wire harness, so I had power and ground to each light. Think I used 14 gauge, and GMsockets. Works and looks like OEM, cause it is so close in design. No strange jmpers, aftermarket relays, etc.
