I don't know why you would say that they look "generic and very cheaply made". I cannot find an edge that looks jagged and sharp and is not contoured.
I guess you are just extremely fussy and willing to spend more than I am but as far as I can tell (and I used to have a Lund ventvisor) these are almost identical in all respects with regard to the plexiglass and contour. The only difference is that these fit inside the window track and the others are adhered with double sided 3M tape which I have had to replace regularly.
That is for all four...same ones I bought...I have the rear window ones sitting out on my shelf...Pics of the fronts installed in the pic area. ooopppsss or in the picture below...ROFL
And another thats closer:

I see what you mean. Those are the ones that use tape. I had those once and hated them. The tape never sticks for long.
I had promised myself I would buy the in-channel type the next time I bought a new vehicle.
I had the tape ones on my honda civic for 3 years and nearly ripped them apart tryin to get them off for a paint job. The tape they used is 3m moulding tape. Are you saying that the mouldings are gonna fall off? You have to clean the surface with rubbing alcohol before you stick them on. Hey Cali they look great. Do you think they will make the extended cab set or this is what we'll have to do is just use the front two.
I think we will have to do with just the front 2 as the rear windows don't flip out or anything so other than asthetics, no reason to have them on the back KC windows.
Got my weatherflectors yesterday. Installed the driver's side one first and followed the directions carefully. As I was slowly rolling up the window for the first I was watching the front for problems and heard a snap behind me. Sure enough the back edge of the window caught the back of the weatherflector. Thought I screwed up and before I called the company I tried the passenger side. Install went fine, rolled up and down probably 8 time slowly, then I went all the way down and did the Auto up and the window snapped the weatherflector in the same place as the drivers side. I called WeatherTech and they are going to send me a new pair - no charge! My question to those of you that are successfully using these: Did I do something wrong on the install? When they are installed does the window touch the weaterflector or do they somehow go between the door and the rubber seal, so that the seal is between the window and the weatherflector? Thanks for any help, don't want to ruin another pair!!!

I installed mine last night and got a scare on the first window roll-up! It made a sound in the back corner like it broke. Lucky for me it didn't. I went to bumping the switch a little at a time from that point on and all went fine. Evidently that corner tends to bind on seating the unit. You might try leaving them in the sun a while to warm them up just prior to installation. The instructions say they fully seat in about 24 hours or some such comment. I assume the heat and window against them make them form to the required shape. At first, mine even bowed the inside weather strip in that same corner. Try it again, I'm sure it will work if you roll it up real slow. Don't let the window's auto-pilot take over and close it up tight on the first time! I'm very pleased with my end result and would buy them again! Good luck

Thanks Niteblitz, I'll try that. My first pair came 3 days after I ordered them, hopefully the second is just as fast!

Did it actually break? I installed mine last week and both sides made the noise the first time I put the window up.
I don't know what made the noise and they both look and perform fine now.
I am thinking the back corner was in the path of the window and when the leading (top) edge caught the plastic it snaped (loudly) out of the way and into the final position.

I had the exact same thing happen the first time and it scared me too. I thought I broke the stupid thing. Turns out that it indeed settled the 'flector into the track properly.
WHen I bought it from the company the guy who sold it to me showed me how to install it on a model door they had in the showroom. He made sure to tell me to leave the windows up for the frist 24 hours to 'seat' the plastic into the frame.
I have never had any problems since that first pop and I open and close my windows *a lot*.
