WeatherFlectors are available

Since the McNeil warehouse is only about 15 miles from my house and I had the day off, I decided to drive over and pick up a set directly. Price for the set of 4 was around $90.00.

They are now installed - took a grand total of 5 minutes to install them.

Sorry for the large pictures, I didn't resize them properly.

Hmmm, those look different than the ones I'm used to. I've always seen the kind that attach to the window frame with 3M tape on the outside (on the paint.) Those look like they are attached somehow to inside the window's groove, perhaps inbetween some weather stripping. Can you give some details or a web address with more info?

O.K., now for the interrogation:

1. Are they smoke tint or is that the vehicle color showing through clear weatherflectors?

2. So are they really easy to put on? I watched the video on their web site and they made it look hard.

3. What if, any, effect do they have on wind noise: (a) with window closed and (b) with window cracked open a little?

Thanks

Finally, I'll order a set. They are nice looking btw. Looks like they curve nicely to the side edges into the window tracks. I've seen some other not very good looking types where they are taped on the window frames, sticking out too much, and the side edges are sharply bent.

Could you post contact information to order these? Maybe Jamie can get them for us! I love being able to pay with PayPal!

you can order straight from www.Weathertech.com or from http://deflectors4less.com/niwe.html for a little less.

I had them on my Jeep and they were easy to install, as they just slide into the window track. They really serve a purpose for me as I like to have fresh air circulating thru on hot days when the car is parked. Mine were smoke so you could not tell the windows were cracked open. I also think the look is cleaner than the tape on application.
The pictures that rrumaner posted were great. I now know exactly what mine will look like. I ordered from weathertech 3 weeks ago and found out that they are on there way.

Do they have them in smoke? I'd much rather prefer the tinted ones.

Do they stop / help with the booming noise when the rear windows are opened while driving?

OK I will try to answer all the various questions.

1. They are smoke colored
2. They fit inside the weatherstripping
3. It took me a grand total of 5 minutes to install them
4. I haven't run with the window open yet as the instructions say to wait 24 hours to let them set inside the window channel. Tomorrow will be a nice day around here so I expect to open the windows, sunroof and see how well they work.
5. WeatherTech website

Stay tuned. I did find out that the company has a wholesale department if we want to try and work out a group purchase. Not sure who is interested in being in charge of this (maybe Jamie) but the option is there.

FYI: I used to have the tape on type on my Durango and they were constantly peeling off at high speeds. I followed all the directions and found that the tape just wouldn't hold. I ended up buying super strength 3M double sided tape to hold them on.

Cool!
I have had mine on order for a couple of weeks now. Sounds like it's time to place a call to them tomorrow to see if they have shipped!

From what I understand, they have two tint options. The stock option is a very light tint. They also have a darker smoke color. I had a set of the lighter ones on my old truck and here are my overal impressions:

+ Light tint is not too distracting
+ No tape on my Titan!
+ Really easy to install
- Also easy to remove (my P's had the rear ones ripped off of their suburban)
- My old one's leaked at the corners sometimes when I had the windows cracked in the rain. More of an annoyance, but it did get me wet.

The rear ones have tape on all three sides. This is simply to hold them in place. There is no way the rear ones could stay in place when the window was down without the tape. The front ones are held in by their own pressure against the sides.
