I'm wondering what is the biggest tire you can fit on stock.
I've already got a set of wheels on order and I'd like to lift the truck as soon as a 4 - 8" 4x4 lift kit comes out.
I need to get tires for the wheels now but don't want to go to big before the lift or too small for after the lift. Know what I mean?
Basically what I'm asking is if you can fit a 35 on a stocker w/o issues.
Also, those of you w/ bigger tires, how are you recalibrating your speedo - if it can even be done at this point?
No you can't fit 35"s on a stock truck. Why not just wait till you get the lift on then get the tires?
Well, got a deal on some wheels so thought I'd split up the expense.
Anyone know the max size you can fit?

Well the Titan's with the 18" wheels come with P265/70R18 tires, which is basically a 33x10.50. So you should be able to fit a 33 inch tall tire, but most 33" tires are 12.50 width, which might be too wide. 32x10.50s will be actually smaller than the OEM tire.
Rough Rider, are you getting a different rim size, cause you could always just put the OEM tires on till later.

I did a little more measuring and 34's might fit, but certainly not 35's at the stock height. All Titans have a 33" diameter tire.

My tires are 33.4 inches tall and 12.8 inches wide. I had to have a 2.5 inch front lift and do a little grinding to get it to fit without rubbing lock to lock.

can you share some pics of the lift/ "grinding to get it to fit" area?
I had to pull the plastic cover inside the wheel well and grind where there is a 'ridge'. It looks like where two pieces of sheet metal come together. I grinded it back about 1/2 inch. and that took care of it. I will see if I can take some pics when I can get around better. Just had shoulder surgery and I can't use the tools I need to pull the plastic cover for at least a week.
I am waiting for a lift as well. I did put new wheels on with the stock tires.
I went to 17x10 welds and my tires rub with the stock tires. I know it is because the wheels are wider and have alittle more backspace but there is still no room for anything bigger than stock without a lift. If you have a 4x2 cst has a 7" lift available but nothing yet for the 4x4. I'll give the lift kit guys till the end of the summer then I'm getting a GMC.

Sammy, the factory would have to tell it what size wheel it is.They forgot to do this on my Tundra with 265/70 16 and it was going 3% farther than the odometer indicated(faster too).Stock wheels were 245/70 16,but the LTD's came with 265/70.
There is zero chance that the factory wouldn't intend to put in correct info to allow for the bigger wheel options, and the lower rear ends. Now there is a chance that they would forget to input this info.My guess anyway.Charlie
