Camper Shell vs Tonneau Cover

Hi there all....

Just wondering your thoughts on the camper shell vs. the tonneau cover.
I know the camper shell will make it look like an old farts truck and the tonneau cover will make it look sleek, but I'm thinking of carrying things.
The tonneau cover doesn't allow for carrying anything of any height.

I'm open to suggestions?!

I feel your pain. Thats why Im going to get the soft tonneau cover. You can roll them back easily and carry tall items.

I ordered a shell because of my dog. Also to carry things and provide security for the utility bed attachments. www.4are.com has a nice LSII lid if you don't need the height.

If you want to remove either a lid or a shell and have a garage with good vertical height, you (or have somebody do it for you) could rig a pulley system to lift it up into the rafters when you need to haul something tall. I have done that previously with a shell on a different truck.

I second that idea. As soon as I gather enought money, I am going with the soft cover.

The thing I don't like about the soft top is....how secure are your things?? Anyone can slice into the top. How safe is that?
